US-based prop firms vs. prop firms that accept US traders

These are two different things and most listicles mix them up. This page covers both and labels them clearly.

US-based prop firms Registered and headquartered in the United States. TradeDay is based in Chicago. My Funded Futures is registered in Delaware. These firms use US-based futures infrastructure — CME, CBOT, Tradovate, NinjaTrader, Rithmic.
Prop firms that accept US traders Registered overseas but openly serve US residents. FTUK is UK-registered. Ment Funding and Hydra Funding operate internationally. They accept US accounts and use platforms that work in the US — DXTrade, Match-Trader, cTrader, TradeLocker — because MetaTrader 4 and 5 are restricted for US accounts at most CFD firms.
Platform check for CFD traders: If a CFD prop firm only offers MT4 or MT5, it almost certainly does not accept US accounts. Look for DXTrade, Match-Trader, cTrader, TradeLocker, or a proprietary platform before signing up.

1. TradeDay — Best overall US futures prop firm

FundedTrading Best Payout Policy Award 2025
HQChicago, Illinois — founded 2020
TypeFutures — CME products
Account sizes$50K, $100K, $150K
Profit split80% base, scales to 95%
DrawdownIntraday trailing, EOD trailing, or static — your choice
PayoutDay one on funded, 24hr processing, $250 minimum

TradeDay is the top US futures pick on FundedTrading based on payout policy and rule fairness. It is headquartered in Chicago, the center of US futures trading. The founding team has over 80 years of combined experience across prop trading groups, hedge funds, and investment banks.

The defining feature is drawdown choice. Most futures prop firms give you one drawdown type. TradeDay gives you three: intraday trailing, end-of-day trailing, and static. Static drawdown means the floor does not move regardless of profits — a genuine differentiator for traders who dislike a trailing threshold rising behind their gains.

On funded accounts there is no consistency rule. Traders can request a payout from day one once they clear the profit buffer. Platforms supported include TradeDayX (built on ProjectX), NinjaTrader, Tradovate, and Jigsaw. Evaluation requires 5 minimum trading days and a 30% daily profit cap during evaluation only.

Pros

  • Three drawdown options — static is rare in futures prop
  • Day-one payout on funded accounts
  • No consistency rule on funded stage
  • Coaching and education layer built in
  • FundedTrading Best Payout Policy Award 2025

Cons

  • Subscription model — monthly fee until you pass
  • 5 minimum trading days required
  • No positions 2 minutes before or after news
  • Only one live funded account at a time

2. E8 Markets — Best EOD drawdown, no time limit

HQUnited States — founded 2021
TypeFutures
Evaluation1-step, no time limit, no minimum trading days
Profit target6% in evaluation
Drawdown4% EOD (2% daily soft pause — no account loss)
PayoutOn-demand after 5 profitable days, up to 80% split

E8 Markets runs a 1-step futures evaluation with no time limit and no minimum trading days. That makes it one of the most accessible evaluation formats for traders who need time to find consistency without the pressure of a countdown.

The drawdown is end-of-day, calculated on balance rather than real-time equity. Intraday swings do not trigger a breach — only your closing balance matters. The 2% daily soft pause is a safety feature that stops the account for the day without resetting or closing it. Funded accounts have no profit target: trade freely as long as you stay within the 4% max drawdown.

Platforms include NinjaTrader, Quantower, TradingView, and Sierra Chart. Scalping and news trading are both allowed in the evaluation phase.

Pros

  • No time limit, no minimum trading days
  • EOD drawdown — intraday swings do not count
  • No funded profit target
  • On-demand payouts after 5 profitable days
  • Scalping and news trading allowed in eval

Cons

  • Profit split capped at 80% — lower than some competitors
  • Must leave a buffer equal to max drawdown before requesting payouts
  • Fewer account size options than some larger platforms

Elite Trader Funding (ETF) has been operating since February 2022 and has published payout data showing over $13 million paid to more than 13,000 funded traders. That puts it among the more established US futures prop firms by confirmed payout volume.

No time limits on evaluations across all six account types. Traders can pass on their own schedule. Funded accounts can be opened in as little as one day after passing. The firm supports NinjaTrader and Tradovate. Account sizes from $25K to $250K give traders more entry points than most competitors.

FundedTrading score8.3/10
PaymentsPayPal, bank transfer accepted
Discount55% off via FT code

PropEd Capital launched in December 2025. It is the newest US firm on this list, which means less historical payout data than the others. That is the main risk factor to weigh before committing to an evaluation.

The firm uses DXFuture (via GooeyTrade) for futures accounts and accepts PayPal and Paytiko at checkout in addition to card. Withdrawals go out via Wise. No EAs or bots — PropEd is strictly for manual traders. Full review is on FundedTrading — verify current rules and pricing before paying.

Note on newer firms: PropEd Capital launched in December 2025. Verify current payout history, drawdown rules, and funded account conditions on the firm’s live site before buying an evaluation. Less track record means more verification is needed.

6. Rev One Trading — Graded profit split, US-based, 2026 launch

TypeFutures
ProgramsClassic, Track ($2.5K for $5), Nitro
Profit split90% base, up to 94.5% at Grade A+
Activation fee$0
PlatformBlack Arrow Pro — browser-based, no install

Rev One Trading is the newest name on this list. FundedTrading published its review in June 2026. The firm launched in 2026 and is US-based. Short operating history means payout track record is still building — factor that in before buying.

The graded profit split is the differentiator. Base split is 90%. If you trade cleanly — spreading profits across trading days and managing drawdown well — your grade improves automatically and the split rises to 94.5% at Grade A+. The math is published. It is not discretionary.

Black Arrow Pro is browser-based. No download, no install, no VPS required. The Track program gives access to a $2,500 account for just $5, which is the lowest entry cost on FundedTrading’s US-based futures list. The FTR coupon code stacks on top of any active Rev One sitewide promotion — confirmed unique behavior for this firm only.

Pros

  • Graded split rises automatically — not discretionary
  • $0 activation fee

US platformsTradeLocker, Match-Trader, FTUK-XT (MT4/MT5 not available for US)
Profit splitUp to 80%
Scaling7-level plan, doubles at each 10% milestone, $6.4M cap
Evaluation typesFlex ($9 upfront, pay after pass), 1-step, 2-step, instant

FTUK accepts US traders. The United States does not appear on FTUK’s restricted countries list. The caveat for US accounts is platform access: MT4 and MT5 are not available. US traders use TradeLocker, Match-Trader, or FTUK-XT instead.

The 7-level scaling plan is the headline number. Starting capital doubles each time a trader hits a 10% profit target, up to $6.4M maximum allocation. Profit split is up to 80%. Weekend holding is allowed. News trading is allowed. The Flex Challenge charges $9 upfront and the full fee only after passing — useful if you do not pass on the first attempt.

  • Flex Challenge reduces upfront risk — $9 to start
  • Weekend holding and news trading both allowed
  • Confirmed US trader access
  • Instant funding option available

TypeForex/CFD
Evaluation1-step, no time limit, no minimum trading days
Profit target10% of starting balance
Account doublingYes — up to $5M cap
PlatformsDXTrade, Match-Trader

Ment Funding accepts US traders. The firm uses US Eastern time — all positions must close by 3:45 PM EST on Fridays unless you add the weekend holding option. No US restriction appears anywhere on the site.

The account doubling model is the main draw. Pass the 1-step evaluation, hit the funded stage, meet three conditions, and the account closes and reopens at double the size. This repeats up to a $5M cap. EAs, hedging, scalping, and copy trading are all allowed. The only restriction is a 3-minute window before and after news events — no open positions during that window but holding through is fine.

Pros

  • Account doubling up to $5M — strong scaling model for US traders
  • No time limits, no minimum trading days
  • All strategies allowed — EAs, hedging, scalping, copy trading
  • Up to 90% profit split
  • Confirmed US access

Cons

  • 3-minute news window restriction — no open positions before/after events

Account sizesUp to $200K
Profit splitUp to 90%
ScalingBonus account (same size, capped at $100K) on qualification, $500K max
PlatformcTrader — crypto and forex; futures on CME pricing

Hydra Funding was co-founded by Cameron Fous, a US-based trader with over 15 years of experience. The firm accepts US traders and has no US restriction on its site. It is one of the few prop firms that offers dedicated accounts for forex, crypto, and futures under one roof.

Instant funding means no evaluation — pay the fee and start trading. Drawdown is trailing. The firm offers 30+ crypto pairs including BTC and ETH on cTrader. Futures accounts run on real CME pricing. Scaling gives a bonus account of equal size once the trader hits the qualifying metrics, capped at $100K additional, up to $500K total allocation.

  • Forex, 30+ crypto pairs, and futures in one firm
  • Instant funding — no evaluation phase
  • US-led leadership team, US trader access confirmed

10. FTMO — US access restored via OANDA acquisition

HQCzech Republic — US route via OANDA (NFA-regulated)
TypeForex/CFD
US platformMetaTrader 5 only (via ftmo.oanda.com)
Profit split80% funded, scales to 90%
Trustpilot4.8/5 from 40,000+ reviews
Total paid out$500M+ globally

FTMO stopped accepting US traders in 2022. That changed in December 2025 when FTMO completed its acquisition of OANDA Global Corporation, which holds NFA regulation in the United States. US traders can now access FTMO via ftmo.oanda.com, backed by OANDA’s regulated US infrastructure.

For US accounts the available platform is MetaTrader 5 only. MT4 and cTrader are not available through the US route. The evaluation model remains FTMO’s standard 2-step challenge: 10% profit target in Phase 1, 5% in Phase 2. Profit split is 80% funded, scaling to 90% after four months and two payouts if the account grows by at least 10%.

FTMO holds a 4.8/5 Trustpilot rating from over 40,000 reviews — the highest review volume of any prop firm globally. Over $500 million has been paid out to traders worldwide.

US traders — use the correct URL: US access is via ftmo.oanda.com, not the standard ftmo.com site. Registering on the wrong site will result in a US access block. The FundedTrading affiliate link points to the standard site — confirm which route applies before signing up.

Pros

  • Largest payout volume of any prop firm — $500M+ globally
  • 4.8/5 Trustpilot from 40,000+ reviews
  • US access restored via NFA-regulated OANDA infrastructure
  • Clear scaling plan — 25% account growth + 90% split after 4 months
  • Operating since 2015 — longest track record in the CFD prop industry

Futures vs. CFD — which is right for US traders?

The instrument type affects which firms are available, which platforms work in the US, and what rules apply to your trading. Choose based on what you actually trade, not which firm has the biggest discount.

Choose futures if: You trade CME products like ES (E-mini S&P 500), NQ (Nasdaq), CL (crude oil), GC (gold), or ZB (bonds). You want a US-headquartered firm. You prefer exchange-traded pricing over OTC CFD execution. The six US-based firms on this list all operate in the futures space.
Choose CFD/Forex if: You trade forex pairs, indices as CFDs, or commodities outside CME. You are comfortable with an offshore firm that accepts US accounts. Check the platform before paying — MT4 and MT5 are restricted for US accounts at most CFD prop firms. FTUK, Ment Funding, and Hydra Funding all use US-compatible platforms.

For full detail on the futures side, start with the best futures prop firms guide which covers firms beyond the US-only scope of this page.

How to choose between these firms

Profit split is the wrong first filter. A 95% split is worthless if the drawdown rule ends your account before you reach a payout. Start with the rule that is most likely to fail you.

If drawdown is your main risk

TradeDay’s static drawdown option is the most protective for traders who build profits quickly and do not want a floor that chases them up. E8 Markets’ EOD model protects against intraday volatility. My Funded Futures uses intraday trailing — stricter but pairs with the fastest payout processing.

If payout speed matters most

My Funded Futures processes most payouts instantly. TradeDay processes within 24 hours from day one on funded accounts. Elite Trader Funding opens funded accounts in as little as one day after passing.

If you are newer to futures prop

TradeDay’s coaching layer and E8 Markets’ unlimited evaluation time with no minimum trading days are both more forgiving starting points than firms with strict consistency rules or time-limited evaluations.

If you trade CFDs or forex and are based in the US

FTUK is the strongest scaling option. Ment Funding is best if you want no strategy restrictions and a pure account doubling model. Hydra Funding is the only option on this list offering forex, crypto, and futures under one roof. FTMO is the safest long-term brand for those who want maximum payout history and Trustpilot confidence.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best US prop firm in 2026?

TradeDay is the strongest US-based futures prop firm in 2026, based on payout policy, day-one withdrawal access, and the choice of three drawdown models. It holds FundedTrading’s Best Payout Policy Award 2025. For CFD traders, FTUK and Ment Funding are the strongest options that openly confirm US account access.

What is the difference between a US-based prop firm and a prop firm that accepts US traders?

A US-based prop firm is registered and headquartered in the United States — TradeDay in Chicago, My Funded Futures in Delaware. A prop firm that accepts US traders may be based overseas but allows American residents to sign up. Most futures prop firms are US-based. Most CFD prop firms are offshore, but some actively accept US accounts.

Can US traders use CFD prop firms?

Yes. FTUK, Ment Funding, and Hydra Funding all accept US residents as of mid-2026. The key difference is platform access. MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 are restricted for US accounts at most CFD firms, so these firms use DXTrade, Match-Trader, cTrader, or FTUK-XT instead. Confirm the platform availability before paying for an evaluation.

Does FTMO accept US traders again?

Yes. After acquiring OANDA in December 2025, FTMO opened a US-facing route at ftmo.oanda.com backed by OANDA’s NFA-regulated infrastructure. US traders access FTMO using MetaTrader 5 only through this route. The standard ftmo.com site remains unavailable to US residents.

Are futures prop firms legal in the US?

Yes. Futures prop firms operate legally across all 50 US states. They run evaluation programs where traders prove consistency on simulated accounts before receiving a funded account offer. These firms are not broker-dealers and are not regulated the same way as futures commission merchants, but the evaluation-based business model is legal under current US law.

Which US prop firm is best for newer futures traders?

TradeDay is the strongest pick for newer futures traders because of its coaching support, static drawdown option, and day-one payout access on funded accounts. E8 Markets is a solid second option with unlimited evaluation time and no minimum trading days — both forgiving starting conditions for traders still building consistency.

Why do most US prop firms focus on futures rather than forex?

MetaQuotes restricted MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 for US use, which pushed most forex CFD prop firms out of the US market or forced them to switch to alternative platforms. Futures prop firms do not face this issue because futures trade on US-regulated exchanges — the CME, CBOT, and NYMEX — making them legally straightforward for US-based firms to operate.

Do FundedTrading discount codes work on US prop firms?

Yes. TDNEW for TradeDay, FT25 for Elite Trader Funding, FT for My Funded Futures, FTR for Rev One Trading, FT35 for FTUK, FT30 for Ment Funding, and FT10 for Hydra Funding are all confirmed active as of July 2026. Check the FundedTrading discounts page for the latest codes and any new sitewide promotions.
