Hydra Funding is an instant-funding prop firm for forex, crypto and futures traders, run by Hydra Funding Ltd in Saint Lucia since 2022. Hydra Funding sells simulated funded accounts with no evaluation phase. You pay a one-time fee, trade from day one, and withdraw from the same account under one published rule set.

This review covers the Hydra Funding forex and CFD accounts. Hydra Funding applies the same rule set, the Unified Hydra Rule Set, to crypto and futures. Futures accounts differ in one way that matters: Hydra Funding charges $29 a month after the first 30 days, and a failed card payment breaches the account. Forex accounts carry no recurring fee.

Hydra Funding stopped selling challenges in March 2026

Hydra Funding stopped selling challenges and evaluations on March 3, 2026, according to its Terms of Use. Older reviews may still describe 1-step and 2-step challenges, which Hydra Funding no longer sells. Hydra Funding now sells three instant plans: Instant Lite, Instant Prime and Instant Pro. Challenge accounts bought before March 3, 2026 keep their original rules with no time limit. Compare the instant model against other firms on our best instant funding prop firms list.

Hydra Funding sells forex accounts from $5K to $400K, priced as a one-time fee. As of October 2026, Instant Lite costs $29 to $1,599, Instant Prime costs $99 to $999, and Instant Pro costs $190 to $1,900. Only Instant Lite goes above $100K. Prices below come from the Hydra Funding account builder.

Hydra Funding keeps every rule identical across the three plans except two: the profit buffer and the Best Day Rule. The table below shows the full rule set for forex accounts.

Instant Lite has a shorter inactivity limit than the other plans. Hydra Funding closes a Lite account that goes 14 days without a trade, so Lite traders place at least one trade every two weeks.

Hydra Funding caps total allocation at $500,000 per trader across all active accounts. You can stack accounts in any mix up to that cap, for example five $100K Instant Lite accounts.

The Hydra Funding profit buffer is the profit you make before any withdrawal. On Instant Lite and Instant Prime, Hydra Funding's FAQ states the buffer stays in the account permanently as a cushion. A $100K Instant Lite keeps $5,000 of your profit. A $100K Instant Prime keeps $8,000.

The buffer adds to the total cost of reaching a first payout. Here is what it takes to reach a first $1,000 withdrawal on each $100K plan, with the standard 75% split.

Instant Lite has the lowest fee, with the first 5% of profit held as the buffer. Instant Prime costs 2.5 times the Lite fee and holds 8%. In exchange, Instant Prime has a 50% Best Day Rule, which suits traders whose profit comes from a few large days.

The buffer also protects the account. After you clear it, the drawdown floor sits at your starting balance and your buffer sits above it. On a $100K Lite account, that leaves at least $5,000 of room after a withdrawal, which is more than the original $4,000. Instant Pro has no built-in cushion, covered in the next section.

Hydra Funding uses a 4% maximum trailing drawdown and a 3% daily loss limit on every forex plan. The Hydra Funding trailing drawdown follows your closed balance upward and stops once it reaches your starting balance. The Hydra Funding daily loss limit is measured on live equity. Breaking either rule closes the account and forfeits any gains.

Max trailing drawdown: 4%, closed balance, capped at starting balance

On a $100K account the floor starts at $96,000. As your closed balance rises, the floor rises with it, until it reaches $100,000. After that it stops moving. Hydra Funding calculates this rule on closed balance, not floating profit and loss, so an open trade that goes against you does not breach the max drawdown until you close it.

The trailing drawdown matters most early in the account. Close a $3,000 winner and your floor moves from $96,000 to $99,000. Give that $3,000 back and you are at breakeven with only $1,000 of room left. Traders who close large early winners can size the next trades with the reduced room in mind. The +2% Max Drawdown add-on raises the limit to 6% for 50% on top of the fee.

Max daily loss: 3% from a 5:00 PM EST anchor

Hydra Funding sets a daily anchor at market close, 5:00 PM EST. The anchor is your balance or your equity, whichever is higher. During the next trading day your equity must stay above the anchor minus 3%. Touch that line once, even on a floating loss, and the account closes.

For swing traders: if you hold a winning trade open through 5:00 PM EST, the floating profit becomes tomorrow's anchor. If that trade reverses the next morning, the give-back counts against your 3% for the new day. A position that is still net positive can breach the daily limit. Intraday traders who close flat before 5:00 PM EST avoid this. Hydra Funding's FAQ does not state whether the 3% is measured against the anchor or the starting balance [verify: confirm with Hydra Funding support].

Best Day Rule: 15%, 50% or 25% of profit

The Hydra Funding Best Day Rule limits how much of your profit in a payout cycle can come from your single best trading day. Hydra Funding measures the best day as the largest equity-to-equity gain within one trading day, so floating profit counts. The rule resets after each approved payout.

On Instant Lite the cap is 15%, which means your profit has to come from roughly seven or more decent days. A single large day can delay eligibility until more profit comes from other days. Instant Pro sits at 25%, so four or more days. Instant Prime allows 50%, the highest of the three plans. Learn how drawdown models compare across firms in our prop firm glossary.

Hydra Funding Instant Pro has a 0% profit buffer, but a full withdrawal breaches the account. Hydra Funding moves the trailing drawdown up to your starting balance when the first withdrawal processes. Withdraw every dollar of profit and your balance lands exactly on the floor. Hydra Funding documents this in its own FAQ with a $100K example.

In practice, Instant Pro traders set their own cushion. Say your $100K Pro account is at $105,000. Withdraw $1,000 and you sit at $104,000 with a $100,000 floor, so you keep the original 4% of room. Withdraw $5,000 and the account closes. To keep trading with the standard 4% of room, a Pro trader needs $5,000 of profit to take a $1,000 withdrawal. That matches the profit a Lite trader needs for the same withdrawal. The Instant Pro fee is about 4.75 times the Lite fee.

The difference is that the Instant Pro cushion stays withdrawable. When you are ready to stop trading the account, you can withdraw everything and accept the closure. On Instant Lite, the $5,000 buffer never leaves Hydra Funding. Instant Pro makes sense for traders who plan a defined run on the account and a full cash-out at the end.

Hydra Funding allows news trading outside a 3-minute window, bans weekend holding without an add-on, and limits copy trading to accounts you own. These rules apply to all three forex plans. Each one is below with what it means for how you trade.

Hydra Funding forex accounts run on cTrader, DXtrade and GooeyPro. Forex accounts cover currency pairs, metals and indices, with some crypto CFDs at 1:2. Hydra Funding publishes the full symbol list as a Google Sheet linked from its homepage.

The 1:5 on metals and indices is relevant for gold and NAS100 traders. A gold position uses ten times the margin of the same notional size in EUR/USD. On a $25K account, that caps your gold exposure at $125,000 notional before margin runs out.

Hydra Funding prices forex on raw spreads plus commission from aggregated liquidity providers, with simulated fills at VWAP. Hydra Funding states EUR/USD spreads typically sit around 0.1 pips. The commission per lot is not published on the pages we checked [verify: confirm per-lot commission]. Hydra Funding's Terms state trades may be hedged, routed or internalized, and all Hydra Funding accounts are simulated.

Hydra Funding pays a 75% profit split, or 90% with a one-time add-on. Hydra Funding processes most withdrawals within 48 business hours through Rise for fiat or in crypto. Your first withdrawal is available once you clear the profit buffer and the Best Day Rule. After that, Hydra Funding allows one withdrawal every 30 days.

For comparison, Instant Funding pays weekly on its flagship instant account. The minimum withdrawal is 1% of account size, so $1,000 on a $100K account. KYC is required before the first withdrawal, not at signup. Check the restricted country list before you buy, because Hydra Funding closes accounts that fail verification and forfeits the profit.

Hydra Funding add-ons

Hydra Funding sells four add-ons at checkout, each priced as a percentage of the account fee and charged once. You cannot add them later.

On a $100K Lite, the 90% split add-on costs $79.80 and adds 15% to every withdrawal. It breaks even after $532 of total withdrawals. Payout Protection covers one specific case. Hydra Funding pays out under it when the daily loss limit closes an account that was already payout-eligible. It does not cover a max drawdown breach or any prohibited activity.

Hydra Funding Scaling Plan

The Hydra Funding Scaling Plan gives you a free second account, same size and type, capped at $100K. To qualify, you need three withdrawals of at least 5% of starting balance from the same account within 180 days of purchase. On a $100K Instant Lite, that is three $5,000 withdrawals plus the $5,000 buffer, so $20,000 of profit in six months [verify: whether the 5% counts the gross withdrawal or your share after the split].

One condition to plan around: a breach on any Hydra Funding account during qualification can void eligibility. For example, a breach on a separate $5K test account can affect scaling eligibility on a main account.

Code FT applies to your first purchase only. Hydra Funding's affiliate terms state partner codes work on full-price purchases and do not combine with sale prices, other promo codes, or first-purchase offers. Hydra Funding also shows a 30% first-purchase code to visitors who submit an email. You get one 30% discount either way. Code FT applies straight away with no email signup.

Best for

Intraday forex traders who close flat before 5:00 PM EST, spread profit across many days, and want to skip an evaluation. Instant Pro suits experienced traders planning a defined run and a full cash-out. Instant Prime suits traders whose results come from a few big days.

Less suited to

Traders who hold positions over weekends without the add-on or prefer weekly payouts. Also traders whose normal drawdown runs above 4%, unless they add the +2% Max Drawdown option.

Hydra Funding is a registered company, Hydra Funding Ltd, based at The Sotheby Building, Rodney Bay, Gros-Islet, Saint Lucia, and operating since 2022. Hydra Funding publishes its rule set and Terms in full, pays through Rise and crypto, and states its payout record since 2022 has no missed or denied payouts. FundedTrading has not audited that payout claim.

Hydra Funding publishes a payout leaderboard on its homepage. As of June 2026, the top entry shows $99,887.04 paid across five payouts to one trader on a $200,000 allocation. Hydra Funding won the FundedTrading Most Innovated award in 2024.

Hydra Funding holds a 3.9 Trustpilot score from about 93 reviews as of October 2026 [verify: Trustpilot blocked our live check]. The Hydra Funding Trustpilot profile carries a notice stating Trustpilot removed fake reviews for the company. Hydra Funding responded in a public statement saying its team flagged promotional reviews and did not collect reviews during that period.

Like other prop firms, Hydra Funding is not a broker and holds no financial license, which is normal for this business. Two terms to note: Saint Lucia law governs disputes, and Hydra Funding's liability is capped at the amount you paid or $1,000, whichever is less. Hydra Funding does not accept traders from Pakistan, Russia, Cuba, Sudan, Somalia, Iran, Libya, Syria, Lebanon, Vietnam or Romania. Full rules sit on the Hydra Funding FAQ page.

The closest alternative to Hydra Funding for forex traders is Instant Funding, which also sells no-evaluation accounts. Instant Funding removes the daily loss limit and pays weekly, but tightens its drawdown after 5% profit. Figures for Instant Funding come from our Instant Funding review, data checked June 2026.

Each plan matches a trading pattern. Instant Lite has the lowest entry cost. Instant Prime fits traders whose best day often produces more than a quarter of their profit.
