What Is Maven Trading?
Maven Trading is a simulated funded trading prop firm that has operated since 2022. The legal entity is Maven Edu FZCO, registered in Dubai Silicon Oasis, UAE (registration number 006-0060823-070425). A secondary entity, Mavsoft, operates out of Vancouver, Canada. Traders do not trade live markets. Maven runs simulated accounts fed by liquidity providers through Match-Trader, MetaTrader 5, and cTrader.
As of July 2026, Maven has over 200,000 traders on its platform and has paid out more than $130 million. It offers six distinct challenge types: 1-Step, 2-Step, 3-Step, Instant Funding, OMO 2-Step, and Buy Now Pay Later. Each has different profit targets, drawdown rules, and payout mechanics. Getting the wrong one for your trading style is the most common reason traders struggle with Maven.
The firm’s main attraction is price. A $2,000 3-Step account costs $13 with code MVN, the cheapest published challenge across 60-plus firms tracked by major review sites. The fee is refundable on the third successful payout on standard accounts.
Challenge Types and Account Sizes
Maven’s standard challenge lineup runs across six account sizes from $2,000 to $100,000. The 3-Step is the cheapest entry. The 1-Step costs slightly more but uses trailing drawdown, which moves up as your equity grows. The 2-Step sits in the middle. Instant Funding skips the evaluation entirely but requires a 20% consistency score before every payout.
Prices below reflect the MVN discount and are taken directly from Maven’s pricing page as of July 4, 2026.

For a broader look at how these rules compare to other firms, see our guide to prop firm drawdown rules explained.
Minimum Profitable Days — 2-Step
The 2-Step requires 3 minimum profitable days per phase. A profitable day counts when you close at least 0.5% of account balance in profit during that UTC calendar day (00:00 to 23:59 UTC). You must hit the 3 qualifying days in the funded phase too before any payout is processed.
The OMO 2-Step Challenge — What Makes It Different
The OMO 2-Step is Maven’s newest standard evaluation and it works differently from the regular 2-Step. The most important difference: Phase 2 has a higher profit target than Phase 1. This is the opposite of the standard 2-Step (8% then 5%). In OMO, you hit 6% in Phase 1 and then 8% in Phase 2. Maven’s reasoning is that the harder Phase 2 filters out lucky passes.
| OMO Rule | Phase 1 | Phase 2 | Funded Stage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Profit Target | 6% | 8% | None |
| Max Drawdown | 8% static | 8% static | 8% static |
| Daily Drawdown | 4% EOD | 4% EOD | 4% EOD |
| Min Profitable Days | 4 days at 0.5% | 4 days at 0.5% | 4 days at 0.5% |
| Min Hold Time | None | None | 150 seconds |
| News Trading | Allowed | Allowed | Allowed but capped at 0.5% of balance per event |
| Time Limit | 180 days combined across both phases | None | |
M2 Account Saver
The OMO and Buy Now Pay Later funded accounts have an M2 Account Saver. This monitors your open-position drawdown in real time. If your combined floating loss hits 2% of account balance, it triggers automatically.
First trigger: all open trades close and your profit split drops permanently to 50% for the rest of that account. Second trigger: all open trades close again and your account is permanently deactivated. There is no recovery from a second breach. Position sizing from the start is the only way to avoid it.
OMO Payout Cap
The first payout from an OMO funded account is capped at 6% of your account balance. The second payout is capped at 8%. After that, there is no cap. This is separate from the standard accounts’ $10,000 rolling cap.
The OMO coupon code is OMO — 40% off OMO challenge accounts. It is separate from MVN and the two codes do not stack.
Buy Now Pay Later Challenge — How It Works
The Buy Now Pay Later challenge costs $5 to start. You trade the evaluation and if you pass, you pay the remaining fee to activate your funded account. The remaining fee comes from your account, not your pocket before you trade. Maven holds it from your first payout.
| Account Size | Upfront | Remaining (paid on activation) |
|---|---|---|
| $2,000 | $5 | $40 |
| $5,000 | $5 | $69 |
| $10,000 | $5 | $117 |
| $20,000 | $5 | $189 |
| $50,000 | $5 | $359 |
| $100,000 | $5 | $589 |
Evaluation Rules
The evaluation requires a 4% profit target inside a 10% maximum static drawdown. There is no daily drawdown limit, no minimum trading days, and no news restriction during the evaluation. This is more permissive than any of Maven’s standard evaluation accounts.
Funded Stage Rules
Once funded, stricter rules apply. A 4% daily EOD drawdown limit activates. Maximum drawdown changes from 10% static to 8% trailing from highest floating equity. A 20% consistency score applies before each withdrawal. The M2 Account Saver is active. Profit split stays at 80%.
Prediction Markets and Gold Eternal — Maven’s New Products
Maven launched two new product categories in 2025 and 2026 that no competitor has matched. Both are live as of July 2026.
Prediction Markets
Maven is the first prop firm to offer funded trading on prediction markets. The challenge is a 1-Step evaluation available in two tiers. The One-Step Essential uses trailing drawdown with a 3% max loss. The One-Step Elite uses static drawdown with a 5% max loss. Both require a 9% profit target. There is no profit target on the funded stage.
The data feed comes from MatchTrade and follows markets on Kalshi or Polymarket. You trade event contracts — outcomes like election results, sports winners, or AI benchmarks. If you buy a contract at $0.19 and it rises to $0.60, you profit $0.41 per contract. Maximum profit from any one question is capped at 3% of your starting balance. There are no daily drawdown limits and no minimum trading days on prediction market accounts.
The profit split is 70% on prediction market accounts (vs 80% on standard). No news trading restriction applies. No consistency rule applies.
Gold Eternal — 24/7 Gold Trading
Maven introduced Gold Eternal (XAUUSD traded 24/7) in March 2026. Standard gold stops when forex markets close. Gold Eternal follows real-market-linked pricing even outside traditional hours. It is available on all account types as an additional instrument. The current promo code ETERNAL gives 10% off accounts that include Gold Eternal access. This is the same code as Maven’s general sitewide discount at time of writing, so MVN and ETERNAL are functionally equivalent for most standard accounts.
Drawdown and Risk Rules
Maven uses three different drawdown types across its accounts. Getting this wrong is the most common reason traders breach accounts they should have passed.
Static Drawdown (3-Step and 2-Step)
Your loss floor is set at the start and does not move. On a $10,000 2-Step account with 8% max drawdown, your floor is always $9,200 regardless of how much profit you make. If you grow the account to $12,000 and then lose $2,900, you breach — even though your drawdown from the current balance is only 24%.
Trailing Drawdown (1-Step and Instant)
The floor rises with your highest equity point. If you start at $10,000 with 5% trailing drawdown on a 1-Step, your initial floor is $9,500. If you grow to $11,000, your floor moves to $10,450. If you then give back $600, your floor is now $10,450 — not your original $9,500. This catches traders who assume the floor stays where they started.
Daily: 2% EOD based on higher of equity or balance at 00:00 UTC.
Daily: 4% EOD based on higher of equity or balance at 00:00 UTC.
Daily: 3% EOD based on higher of equity or balance at 00:00 UTC.
Daily: 2% EOD based on higher of equity or balance at 00:00 UTC. Also: max 1% floating loss at any moment.
News Trading Restriction
Standard accounts (1-Step, 2-Step, 3-Step) cannot open or close trades within 2 minutes before or after a red-folder news event on ForexFactory. A trade that was opened before the window and closes during it is still a violation. This rule applies to take-profit and stop-loss hits as well. Instant Funding and Buy Now Pay Later evaluations have no news restriction.
Prohibited Trading Practices
Maven bans Expert Advisors across all account types. Grid trading, gap trading, reverse hedging, high-frequency trading, tick scalping, latency arbitrage, and copy trading are all prohibited. Excessive scalping — holding 50% or more of your trades for under 60 seconds — triggers a review. An “all-in” trade (single trade with no stop-loss, risking more than the drawdown limit) will disqualify the challenge attempt even if the trade is profitable.
Platforms and Instruments
Maven supports three trading platforms. Match-Trader is the primary and cheapest option. MetaTrader 5 is available on most account types but is not available for US or Canadian traders. cTrader is available but challenge prices are higher compared to Match-Trader and MT5.
Instruments
As of July 2026, Maven offers 400-plus tradable instruments across five categories.
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Forex | All major and minor pairs — EURUSD, GBPJPY, AUDUSD, USDJPY, and 38 more |
| Metals and Commodities | XAUUSD, XAGUSD, XPDUSD, XPTUSD, WTI, BRENT, NGAS, COPPER, CORN, WHEAT, and more |
| Indices | US30, US100, US500, UK100, GER30, JAP225, FRA40, and 8 more |
| Crypto | BTCUSD, ETHUSD, BTCEUR, ETHBTC |
| Gold Eternal | 24/7 gold instrument — trades outside standard market hours. Priced against real XAUUSD conditions. |
Leverage and Commissions
| Instrument | Leverage | Commission |
|---|---|---|
| Forex | 75:1 | $2 per side ($4 round trip) |
| Precious Metals | 20:1 | $3 per side ($6 round trip) |
| Energy | 20:1 | $3 per side ($6 round trip) |
| Indices, Commodities, ETFs | 20:1 | $0 commission |
Swap fees are zero across all account types. Spreads vary with market conditions. Trader reports mention spread widening during high-impact news events, which is standard for simulated environments but worth knowing if you trade news-adjacent setups on standard accounts.

Payout Rules and Profit Split
Maven pays 80% of simulated profits across all standard account types. The profit split does not increase with account size or tenure. First payouts on standard accounts are available 10 business days after your first trade. The challenge fee is refunded on the third successful payout (not the first).
The $10,000 Monthly Payout Cap
This is the most important rule most traders miss. Maven caps payouts at $10,000 per 30-day rolling cycle per trader. The cap applies across all accounts held by the same trader — not per account. If you profit $14,000 in a month, $4,000 is voided. The cap resets at the start of each new 30-day window from your first available withdrawal date.
There is an additional rule for profits above $5,000 in a single payout cycle: your single best trading day (or single best trade) cannot exceed 50% of your total profit. If it does, Maven contracts the excess back to the 50% threshold.
The Risk Interview
Once your cumulative payouts exceed $5,000 (lifetime, not per cycle), Maven requires a risk interview with a member of their analyst team before any further payouts are processed. You get one free reschedule. You must attend within two weeks of receiving the invitation or your payout may be delayed.
This interview is not a formality. Multiple trader reports on Trustpilot and Forex Peace Army mention interview outcomes resulting in payout denial, with vague explanations citing “trading behavior inconsistency.” If you plan to trade a funded Maven account long-term, be prepared to articulate your strategy clearly during this interview.
Payout Methods
| Method | Availability | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Direct Bank Transfer | South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana | None stated |
| Rise | Most countries | $20 per withdrawal |
| Bitcoin / Crypto | Supported | Verify at checkout |
| Other | Country-dependent | Verify with support |
Neteller and Skrill are not supported. Deel is referenced in trader discussions but not listed on the official FAQ as of July 2026. Verify the current options with Maven support before submitting your first payout request.
Scaling Plan
Standard accounts can scale to $1,000,000. To scale, you must profit 10% over 4 consecutive months (2.5% per month) and process at least one payout per month. Each qualifying period adds 25% to your account size. The $10,000 payout cap scales alongside account size increases. The maximum individual withdrawal does not scale.
Buyback Feature
If you breach a funded account, you can buy back in without retaking the challenge. Open a support ticket and request a buyback. Costs are set per account size.
| Account Size | Buyback Cost |
|---|---|
| $2,000 | $200 |
| $5,000 | $400 |
| $10,000 | $750 |
| $20,000 | $1,400 |
| $50,000 | $3,500 |
| $100,000 | $6,000 |

Best For / Avoid If
Is Maven Trading Legit?
Yes. Maven Trading is a legitimate prop firm. It has operated since 2022, is registered in Dubai, UAE under Maven Edu FZCO (registration number 006-0060823-070425), and has distributed over $130 million to funded traders globally as of July 2026. No operation at that scale can be sustained by a fraudulent model.
The Trustpilot rating sits between 4.3 and 4.6 out of 5 from over 5,000 reviews. Note: the Trustpilot profile is listed under “Mavsoft” (the Canadian entity name), not Maven Trading — search for Mavsoft if you’re looking for it directly. Maven has redirected most formal feedback to their Feefo profile, which runs near-perfect scores on invite-only verified reviews.
The most credible concerns from trader communities center on three things: the risk interview (which some traders report failing with no clear explanation), trailing drawdown surprises on Instant accounts, and spread widening around news events. These are real friction points. They do not indicate fraud. They indicate a firm with tight risk management and specific rule sets that reward traders who read the documentation carefully.
For more guidance on evaluating whether a firm is trustworthy, see our guide on how to tell if a prop firm is legitimate.
Maven Trading Alternatives
If Maven’s $10,000 payout cap or risk interview requirements don’t fit your goals, here are the most relevant alternatives.
| Firm | Cheapest Challenge | Payout Cap | Consistency Rule | EA Allowed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Maven Trading | $13 ($2K 3-Step with MVN) | $10,000/month | Instant only (20%) | No |
| FTMO | ~$155 ($10K 2-Step) | None | None | Yes (with conditions) |
| FundingPips | ~$32 ($5K challenge) | None | 30% on some accounts | Yes (with conditions) |
| The5ers | ~$95 ($5K) | None | None | Yes |
FTMO suits traders targeting large monthly profits beyond $10,000. The5ers suits EA traders and those wanting no payout cap. FundingPips offers a mid-tier price point with no cap. See the full prop firm comparison tool to filter by rules that match your trading style.
Final Verdict
Maven Trading is the right firm for traders who prioritize low entry cost over maximum payout potential. The $13 starting price, zero swap fees, no time limits, and buyback feature all make it genuinely hard to beat for small-to-mid account sizes. Six distinct account types including the new OMO, BNPL, and Prediction Markets products give Maven more variety than most budget-tier firms.
The limitations are real and specific. The $10,000 monthly payout cap is a hard ceiling that voids any excess — it is not a soft guide. The mandatory risk interview at $5,000 cumulative is a process with real stakes. The trailing drawdown on 1-Step and Instant accounts catches traders who learned drawdown rules on static accounts.
Read the rules for the specific account type you are buying. Verify the drawdown type, the news restriction, and the payout conditions before your first trade. Traders who do this consistently report getting paid. Traders who don’t end up writing the frustrated Trustpilot reviews.
FAQ
Is Maven Trading legit?
Yes. Maven Trading is a legitimate prop firm operating since 2022. It is registered in Dubai, UAE under Maven Edu FZCO, holds a 4.3–4.6 out of 5 Trustpilot rating from over 5,000 reviews, and has distributed over $130 million to funded traders globally as of July 2026.
What is the Maven Trading coupon code?
The current Maven Trading coupon code is MVN, giving 10% off all standard accounts. Maven’s pricing page shows prices after the MVN discount is already applied. Enter MVN at checkout to confirm the rate. OMO challenges use a separate code (OMO) for 40% off.
What is the Maven Trading monthly payout cap?
Maven caps payouts at $10,000 per 30-day rolling cycle per trader. This applies across all accounts held by the same trader. Profits above $10,000 in a cycle are voided — they do not carry over to the next window.
What platform does Maven Trading use?
Maven supports Match-Trader, MetaTrader 5, and cTrader. Match-Trader and MT5 are the most affordable options. cTrader accounts cost roughly twice as much per challenge. MT5 is not available to US or Canada-based traders.
Does Maven Trading allow news trading?
Standard 1-Step, 2-Step, and 3-Step accounts restrict news trading — no trades can open or close within 2 minutes either side of a red-folder ForexFactory event. Instant Funding and Buy Now Pay Later evaluations allow news trading freely. The OMO funded stage allows news trading but caps profits from any single news event at 0.5% of account balance.
What is the Maven Trading consistency rule?
The 20% consistency score applies only to Instant Funding accounts. It is calculated as your largest winning day divided by total profit. You can only withdraw when this number is 20% or below. Standard challenge accounts (1-Step, 2-Step, 3-Step) do not have a consistency score. The OMO and BNPL funded stages have a separate 20% consistency requirement.
What is the Maven Trading OMO challenge?
The OMO 2-Step is a two-phase evaluation where Phase 2 has a higher target than Phase 1 — 6% in Phase 1 and 8% in Phase 2. The max drawdown is 8% static. You need 4 minimum profitable days per phase. The total evaluation period is capped at 180 days. The OMO coupon code is OMO for 40% off — not MVN.
What is the Buy Now Pay Later challenge?
The Buy Now Pay Later challenge costs $5 to start. If you pass the evaluation (4% profit target, 10% max drawdown, no daily limit), you pay the remaining challenge fee to activate your funded account. The remaining fee ranges from $40 for a $2,000 account to $589 for a $100,000 account. The profit split is 80%.
What is the Maven Trading risk interview?
Once your cumulative payouts exceed $5,000, Maven requires a risk interview with an analyst before processing further payouts. You get one reschedule. If you fail to attend within two weeks of the invitation, your payout may be delayed or cancelled. Some traders below $5,000 may be selected randomly. Maven does not publish specific pass/fail criteria for the interview.
Does Maven Trading accept US traders?
Maven Trading does accept US traders on Match-Trader accounts. MetaTrader 5 is not available for US or Canada-based traders. Confirm your country’s availability and instrument access before purchasing.
What is Maven Trading’s prediction markets challenge?
Maven launched funded prediction market trading in April 2026, making it the first prop firm to offer this. The evaluation is a 1-Step with a 9% profit target. You trade event contracts (elections, sports outcomes, AI benchmarks) via MatchTrade’s integration with Kalshi and Polymarket. Profit per single question is capped at 3% of your starting balance. Profit split is 70% on funded prediction market accounts.
