Funded Trading Plus Review 2026: Rules, Payouts, Award and Discount Code

Quick verdict: Funded Trading Plus is a legitimate UK-registered prop firm running three clear programs (Instant Funding, 1-Step Express, 2-Step Classic) with no time limits and a 4.4/5 Trustpilot score from 2,650+ reviews. It won Best Instant Funding Prop Firm 2025 at the Funded Trading Awards. Its complaints center on drawdown disputes and KYC holds, not missing payouts.

Code FTR takes 10% off 1-Step Express and 2-Step Classic. It does not apply to Instant Funding.

What Is Funded Trading Plus?

Funded Trading Plus is a UK-registered proprietary trading firm that funds traders on simulated accounts after they pass one of its challenge programs. It launched in 2021, is built by the team behind Trade Room Plus, a trading education brand running since 2013, and has paid out more than $19.5 million to over 60,000 traders across 180+ countries.

The firm is run by Acello Ltd, a company incorporated in England and Wales under company number 12696083, registered at 30 Old Bailey, London. Acello acts as payment agent for IF Pro Ltd, a company incorporated in Saint Lucia that operates the simulated challenge programs. CEO Simon Massey is publicly named and responds directly to Trustpilot reviews under his own name. See how it stacks up against other UK prop firms if the London registration matters to your decision.

In 2026, Funded Trading Plus dropped its older, overlapping program names (Experienced, Prestige, Premium, Advanced, Master) and consolidated everything into three products: Instant Funding, 1-Step Express, and 2-Step Classic. None of the three carry a time limit or a minimum trading-day requirement.

Programs and Rules

Each program targets a different type of trader: Instant Funding skips the evaluation entirely, 1-Step Express is a single profit target, and 2-Step Classic is the traditional two-phase model with static drawdown. Account sizes run from $10,000 to $200,000 across all three.

Instant Funding

No evaluation phase. Traders get a funded account immediately and can request a payout from day one.

Live pricing on the official site currently shows a $100,000 1-Step Express challenge at $549 base fee, with the site’s own rotating promo taking that down further. FTR is FundedTrading’s discount code and stacks on top of that base price, not on top of any other active site promotion.

Add-ons cost extra. A higher profit split, a faster 3-day payout cycle, and a bigger $5M scaling cap are each priced as separate add-ons at checkout, roughly 15% more per add-on based on current site pricing. The base program does not include them.

Drawdown Types Explained

Funded Trading Plus uses two different drawdown mechanics depending on the program, and mixing them up is the fastest way to breach an account you thought was safe.

Trailing drawdown (Instant, 1-Step)The loss limit rises as your balance rises. On a $100,000 account with a 6% trailing cap, the floor moves up every time you lock in profit, so a pullback after a good run can breach the account even though your balance is still above the starting point.
Static drawdown (2-Step Classic)The loss limit is fixed to the starting balance and does not move. On a $100,000 account with an 8% static cap, the maximum loss stays $8,000 no matter how high the balance climbs.

2-Step Classic also carries a 3% symbol loss limit, a cap on how much a single instrument can lose before the whole account closes, even if the overall drawdown limit is untouched. Read our full prop firm drawdown rules guide if trailing versus static drawdown is new to you.

Payout Rules and Timing

Instant Funding and 1-Step Express pay from day one, then every 7 calendar days. 2-Step Classic pays every 10 calendar days once funded. Every payout, on every program, goes through a discretionary risk review first.

That review checks drawdown compliance, trading behavior, and rule adherence before releasing funds. It is not automatic. Funded Trading Plus itself describes the review as covering rule compliance rather than judging trading style, but a discretionary human check means two traders with similar results can get different outcomes depending on what the reviewer flags.

Platforms and Markets

Traders can choose MetaTrader 5, cTrader, Match-Trader, or DXtrade, covering forex, indices, commodities, and crypto. 2-Step Classic is restricted to MT5 and Match-Trader only. Leverage tops out at 1:30 for forex on Instant Funding and 1-Step Express, and 1:50 on 2-Step Classic, with lower caps on indices and crypto.

US traders can open an account but are routed to Match-Trader or DXtrade. MetaTrader 5 is not available to US traders through Funded Trading Plus’s broker partner.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Three distinct programs with no time limit or minimum trading days on any of them
  • Instant Funding option for traders who want to skip the evaluation
  • Scaling to $2.5M standard, $5M with the add-on
  • Named CEO who replies to Trustpilot complaints directly, under his own name
  • 4.4/5 Trustpilot score across 2,650+ reviews

Cons

  • Payouts go through a discretionary risk review, not an automatic release
  • Trailing drawdown on Instant Funding and 1-Step Express can breach an account after a profitable run
  • Higher split, faster payouts, and bigger scaling are all separate paid add-ons
  • 2-Step Classic locks you into MT5 or Match-Trader only

Who Each Program Fits

Instant Funding suits traders who want funding without an evaluation and can live without weekend holding. 1-Step Express fits traders who want a short evaluation, weekend holding, and early payout access once funded. 2-Step Classic fits traders who prefer a fixed static drawdown and higher leverage over a two-phase structure.

Is Funded Trading Plus Legit?

Yes. Funded Trading Plus is run by Acello Ltd, a company on the public England and Wales register under number 12696083, with a named CEO (Simon Massey) who responds to complaints on Trustpilot under his own name. The firm has paid out more than $19.5 million since 2021 and publishes its trading rules, drawdown limits, and payout timing openly. Like every prop firm, it is not a licensed broker, because it does not hold or trade client capital. That is normal for the industry, not a red flag.

Funded Trading Plus Best Instant Funding Prop Firm 2025 award badge

In 2025, Funded Trading Plus won Best Instant Funding Prop Firm at the Funded Trading Awards, based on trader feedback and the performance of its Instant Funding program. It’s one of four award mentions the firm now lists, alongside recognition from Prop Firm Stats and International Business Magazine.

What the Negative Reviews Actually Say

Funded Trading Plus sits at 4.4/5 on Trustpilot from roughly 2,650 reviews, with 3% landing at one star. Reading through those one-star reviews instead of skipping past them, four patterns repeat. None of them are “bad support.” Each one ties back to a specific rule already explained above.

1. Drawdown disputes over exact equity mathTraders challenge whether they actually crossed the daily or trailing loss line. In one documented case, a trader’s account was flagged for breaching a $9,400 daily loss limit after their equity fell to $9,356.95 through 35 losing positions added during a losing run. Simon Massey replied publicly with the trade log and screenshots to back the breach. The pattern: traders dispute the number, FT+ answers with the specific trades.
2. Single-symbol loss limit terminations2-Step Classic’s 3% symbol loss cap ends the whole account over one instrument’s move, even when overall drawdown is fine. One trader reported a $98,141 account closed over a 2% single-symbol breach worth roughly $2,912 on USDJPY. The rule is published on the page above, but traders who don’t read the symbol-level cap separately from the overall drawdown cap get caught by it.
3. KYC and identity holds after passing an evaluationA cluster of traders report accounts held or declined at the KYC stage, sometimes after already being funded, over ID document, device, or IP-address checks. FT+’s own CEO has confirmed accounts get held specifically for AML and fraud-prevention reasons, and the firm’s help center recommends completing KYC as early as possible for exactly this reason.
4. Execution disputes in fast or thin marketsA smaller number of complaints involve spread spikes or stop-loss slippage during volatile windows, on gold and around news events, that traders say don’t match what they saw quoted elsewhere. FT+ has attributed at least one case to its liquidity provider rather than disputing the trader’s screenshots.
What’s missing from the complaint patternThere is no cluster of traders saying Funded Trading Plus approved a payout and then never sent it, or took challenge fees and went dark. That is the pattern you see on firms with genuine payout fraud (some smaller, newer firms in this space fit that description). FT+’s one-star reviews are rule disputes and KYC friction, not disappearance. The firm also replies to roughly 73% of negative Trustpilot reviews, usually with specific account or trade detail rather than a template response.

Put together, this confirms the verdict above rather than contradicting it. A firm that enforces a published drawdown rule, a symbol cap, and a KYC check will generate exactly this kind of complaint, traders who feel a specific rule was applied unfairly to them. That’s friction, not fraud. If Funded Trading Plus were the kind of operation that takes fees and disappears, the one-star reviews would say so, and they don’t.

Alternatives to Funded Trading Plus

If Funded Trading Plus’s trailing drawdown or discretionary payout review is a dealbreaker, these three are worth comparing directly.

FirmDrawdownInstant fundingTrustpilot
FTMO10% staticNo4.8 / ~45,000 reviews
FundedNextTrailing and static optionsYes4.5 / ~70,000 reviews
Hola PrimeStaticYes4.5 / ~2,000 reviews

FTMO trades a much larger Trustpilot track record for no instant funding option at all. FundedNext matches Funded Trading Plus on program variety with a bigger review base. Hola Prime is newer and smaller but built specifically around instant funding, the same niche FT+ won its 2025 award in. See our full prop firm comparison for a wider field.

Final Verdict on Funded Trading Plus

Funded Trading Plus is a legitimate, UK-registered prop firm with a real track record: $19.5 million paid out since 2021, a named and responsive CEO, and a 2025 Best Instant Funding Prop Firm award. Three programs cover three different ways to get funded, none of them on a clock.

The trade-off is friction, not fraud. Trailing drawdown, a symbol-level loss cap, and a discretionary payout review generate real complaints from real traders, and this review reads those complaints rather than hiding them. None of them amount to a firm that doesn’t pay. Funded Trading Plus fits traders who want program choice and can live with a rules-first approach to risk. It’s a weaker fit for anyone who wants a single fixed program or zero discretion in the payout process.
