Prop Firm Trading Competitions in 2026: 7 Firms Running Free Contests

Quick answer: For Traders runs the most trading competitions of any prop firm: a 24-hour Wednesday Clash, a 72-hour Weekend Crypto Clash, monthly events, and the only prediction markets competition in prop trading. FundedNext runs the largest monthly cash pool at over $8,000 across 600 leaderboard places. Goat Funded Trader publishes the clearest prize ladder, paying the top 20 plus 10 random entrants. The5ers runs weekly contests with 100 winners a week. Alpha Capital Group and Blueberry Funded run free monthly competitions. Hola Prime runs named event contests such as Prop Mania and the KAT Playoff, paying cash on top of funded accounts.

Which prop firms run trading competitions?

Seven prop firms run trading competitions on a repeating schedule in 2026, and all seven have a FundedTrading.com review behind them. For Traders, FundedNext, Goat Funded Trader, The5ers, Alpha Capital Group, Blueberry Funded, and Hola Prime all run free-to-enter contests on simulated accounts, with no entry fee at any of them. The Leap is a TradingView paper trading contest rather than a prop firm product.

Dates change every month. This table records the schedule each firm operates on, not a fixed calendar. Registration for a monthly competition usually opens in the month before the contest starts. Check the firm's own competition page for the current entry deadline.

How this list was built

Every firm here was checked against its own competition page, help centre article, or published rules document. No entry rests on a third-party directory. A firm qualifies only if it runs competitions on a repeating schedule, so one-off giveaways and social media raffles were excluded. A trader searching for a contest to enter needs something that will still be running next month.

FundingPips was removed from an earlier draft of this list. FundingPips ran a Community Championship and monthly contests through 2024 and 2025, but FundingPips publishes no current competition page and its 2026 product lineup makes no reference to one. Rather than list a contest sourced from directories, this page leaves FundingPips out until FundingPips documents a live event. Compare the underlying evaluation products on the prop firm comparison tool before buying anything a competition wins you.

1. For Traders: the most tournaments per month

For Traders runs more trading competitions than any other prop firm, at 7 or more tournaments per week. For Traders operates three recurring formats at once: the Wednesday Clash, a 24-hour forex tournament on $10,000 of virtual capital, the Weekend Crypto Clash, a 72-hour crypto tournament, and month-long competitions on $100,000 of virtual capital paying up to 10 prize positions. For Traders also runs regional events including an India Clash and a UK Clash.

Every For Traders tournament is free to enter with no deposit, no credit card, and no KYC. For Traders runs tournaments on MetaTrader 5 across 130+ instruments with a 10% maximum drawdown, and ranks entrants by highest percentage gain on the instruments listed on the tournament banner. Prizes are challenge accounts rather than cash. For Traders states 30,000+ monthly participants and $1.2M+ in funded accounts awarded per month.

The prediction markets competition nobody else runs

For Traders also runs a free monthly prediction markets competition, the only one of its kind in prop trading. Entrants trade YES and NO shares on event outcomes across politics, sports, crypto, economics, and other categories on a $100,000 simulated balance, with a 10% maximum total loss, a 5% cap on risk per event, and a limit of three open positions. There is no evaluation phase and the competition runs for one month. The top 19 finishers win challenge accounts: $100K for first through third, $50K for fourth through sixth, $25K for seventh through ninth, and $6K for tenth through nineteenth. Round 1 handed out $1M in challenge accounts across the top 10. Full rules and pricing sit in the For Traders review.

This is the workaround for UK and EU traders. CFD prop trading is restricted across much of the UK and EU, which locks those traders out of most competitions on this page. Prediction markets sit outside that framework, so the For Traders competition is reachable where its CFD challenges are not. Prizes are challenge accounts rather than cash, and the product is still in beta with no real-money withdrawals.

Strengths

  • Several tournaments run at once, so entry is open most weeks
  • 24-hour and 72-hour formats suit traders who cannot commit a month
  • The only free crypto-only tournament run by a prop firm

Limits

  • Prizes are challenge accounts, not cash
  • Short formats reward aggression over consistency
  • Prize pools sit below FundedNext's monthly cash pool
Two things to weigh before you enter. For Traders restricts traders in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iran, Syria, Myanmar, Lebanon, Libya, Sudan, Cuba, North Korea, Russia, Belarus, Crimea, and the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Separately, Trustpilot flagged For Traders for a guidelines breach after removing fake reviews. Entering a free competition costs nothing either way, but read the trust section of the review before you spend money on a challenge.

FUNDEDTRADING takes 10% off any For Traders plan. For Traders also runs its own site-wide promotions, including buy-one-get-one deals, and codes do not stack, so compare which saves more before paying.

2. FundedNext: the biggest monthly cash prize pool

FundedNext runs the largest monthly cash prize pool in prop firm competitions. FundedNext pays over $8,000 in cash across 600 leaderboard positions, with first place taking $5,000 cash plus a Stellar Instant $20K account. FundedNext has run the competition every month since March 2024.

FundedNext gives every entrant a $100,000 simulated account for one calendar month, starting on the first trading day. FundedNext sets a 5% daily loss limit, a 10% maximum loss limit, and a minimum of five separate trading days to be ranked. FundedNext bans copy trading and high-frequency bots in the competition. Entrants ranked 101st to 600th go into a draw for Stellar Instant accounts. Account rules and payout terms sit in the FundedNext review.

3. Goat Funded Trader: the clearest prize ladder

Goat Funded Trader publishes a full place-by-place prize ladder before the competition starts, which no other firm on this list does. Goat Funded Trader pays the top 20 finishers every month plus 10 randomly drawn entrants, and states that over 98,000 traders compete.

Goat Funded Trader awards first place $3,000 cash plus a 100K Instant account, second place $2,000 cash plus a 50K Instant account, and third place $1,000 cash plus a 25K Instant account. Places 11 to 20 receive 2-Step Goat Challenge accounts, and 10 random participants receive a 5K 2-Step Goat Challenge. The competition runs from the first day of the month to the last, and Goat Funded Trader allows entry at any point before the month ends. News trading and weekend holding are both permitted. Full evaluation rules are in the Goat Funded Trader review.

Best pick for late entry. Every other monthly competition here requires registration before the month starts. Goat Funded Trader lets a trader join an active competition mid-month, which matters if you find this page partway through August.

FT30 takes 30% off any Goat Funded Trader account. Goat Funded Trader also runs rotating public codes, so compare the final checkout price before paying.

4. The5ers: weekly contests with 100 winners

The5ers runs a weekly trading competition with free entry and 100 winners every week. The5ers awards funded accounts rather than cash, so a win puts a trader onto firm capital instead of into another evaluation queue. The5ers has operated since 2016 and has paid out over $43 million to traders.

The5ers runs contests on demo accounts with defined risk parameters and judges on risk behaviour alongside raw return. The5ers also runs a multi-brand event, the Traders' Contest, spanning The5ers, The5ers Futures, Trade the Pool, and Trade Set Go, with over 100 winners across the group. A trader may enter each contest under one brand only. Rules, pricing, and payout terms are covered in the The5ers review.

Weekly cadence is the differentiator. A monthly competition gives a trader 12 attempts a year. The5ers gives roughly 52. For traders who want repeated shots at a free funded account, entry frequency matters more than headline prize size.

5. Alpha Capital Group: the clearest published rules

Alpha Capital Group runs a free monthly trading competition with one entry per person, where the highest dollar gain takes first place. Alpha Capital Group publishes a nine-point rule list in its help centre, last updated on 6 July 2026, making it the easiest competition here to check before entering.

Alpha Capital Group sets a 5% maximum daily drawdown and a 10% maximum total drawdown on competition accounts and bans Expert Advisors. Alpha Capital Group caps lot size at 10 lots on FX, XAUUSD, and XAGUSD, and 30 lots on oil, CFDs, and indices, with a limit of five open positions at any time. Weekend holds and news trading are both allowed. Alpha Capital Group permanently bans traders found using multiple emails to enter more than once. Prizes are discounts and free accounts rather than cash. The evaluation products behind those prizes are covered in the Alpha Capital review.

Alpha Capital coupon code FUNDEDTRADING15

FUNDEDTRADING15 takes 15% off eligible Alpha Capital evaluations. Confirm the discount before paying.

6. Blueberry Funded: monthly, with two caveats

Blueberry Funded runs monthly trading competitions on a $100,000 simulated account at 1:50 leverage. Blueberry Funded applies a single 10% maximum drawdown on the starting balance with no daily drawdown limit, which is looser than the daily limits at FundedNext and Alpha Capital Group. Blueberry Funded bans Expert Advisors and allows one account per participant.

Blueberry Funded opens sign-up one month before each competition starts, usually on the first of the month, and disqualifies any account that has not started trading within the first 15 days. Blueberry Funded delivers winner coupons and accounts within 48 hours of verification. Blueberry Funded is broker-backed through Blueberry Markets, and its evaluation lineup sits in the Blueberry Funded review.

Two things to check first. Blueberry Funded restricts traders in the United States, Australia, and several other countries, so eligibility is the first thing to confirm. Second, the Blueberry Funded competition rules article was last updated in August 2025 and still describes a November competition as current. The monthly structure it sets out is the format Blueberry Funded runs, but the specific drawdown figures may have moved. Confirm current terms in the Blueberry Funded dashboard rather than relying on the published article.

7. Hola Prime: cash on top of the funded account

Hola Prime runs named event competitions rather than a fixed monthly cycle, and pays cash alongside the funded account rather than instead of it. Hola Prime ran the KAT Playoff with up to $5,500 in cash on the line, and Prop Mania as a five-day leaderboard event. Entry is free and Hola Prime does not require KYC to enter, only to claim a prize.

Hola Prime sets a 3% maximum daily loss on the previous day's closing balance and a 7% maximum overall loss on the initial balance. Both are hard stops that end trading on the account. Hola Prime allows overnight holding and news trading but bans Expert Advisors. Hola Prime permits one account per person on one email and one IP, and disqualifies entrants using VPNs, VPS, shared devices, or multiple identities. Hola Prime closes all competition trades when the event ends. Payout mechanics and challenge rules are in the Hola Prime review.

You have to post on social media to get paid. Hola Prime requires winners to complete KYC and publish a social media post tagging Hola Prime Global before releasing a prize. No other firm on this page attaches a promotional condition to the payout. If you would rather not post about a prop firm under your own name, factor that in before entering.

Hola Prime coupon code FT15

FT15 takes 15% off any Hola Prime challenge or Direct Account. Hola Prime also runs seasonal promotions that go deeper, so compare before paying.

The Leap by TradingView: the largest field, but not a prop firm

The Leap is a TradingView paper trading competition rather than a prop firm product, and it draws the largest field of any contest covered here. The July 2026 edition, co-marketed with TradeStation, ran from 20 July to 14 August with 107,677 participants, and the top 250 by highest income took prizes.

TradingView gives every entrant a $100,000 paper trading account with a minimum of five trading days to qualify. Only realised profit and loss on closed positions counts toward the leaderboard, and TradingView closes every open position automatically when the competition ends. TradingView runs editions roughly monthly across forex, crypto, and futures, with a different partner each time.

The Leap does not award funded accounts. Winning The Leap pays cash and prizes but opens no path to firm capital. Traders who want a funded account out of a competition should look at The5ers, Goat Funded Trader, or Hola Prime instead.

What is the difference between a prop firm competition and a challenge?

A prop firm competition ranks traders against each other over a fixed period, and only the top finishers win anything. A prop firm challenge measures a trader against a fixed profit target, and every trader who hits that target inside the drawdown limits passes. Competitions are usually free. Challenges cost money.

DimensionCompetitionChallenge
CostFree at all 7 firms here$13 to $1,100 depending on size
Pass conditionRank above other entrantsHit a fixed profit target
Time limitFixed window, 24 hours to 1 monthOften none at CFD firms
OutcomeCash, accounts, or nothingFunded account or a lost fee
Optimal strategyMaximum return in the windowSteady return inside drawdown

The strategic gap between the two is the part most traders miss. A competition rewards the single highest return, which pushes entrants toward large position sizes. A funded account rewards survival. A trader who wins a competition using competition tactics will often breach the funded account that competition just won them. Read the rules of the prize account before you optimise for the leaderboard.

Prop firm competition FAQs

Which prop firms run weekly competitions?

The5ers runs weekly trading competitions with 100 winners each week. For Traders runs the Wednesday Clash, a 24-hour tournament, plus the Weekend Crypto Clash over 72 hours. Both are free to enter. No other major prop firm currently runs contests on a weekly cadence.

Are prop firm competitions free to enter?

Yes. Every one of the seven firms on this page runs its competitions with no entry fee and no payment method required. Hola Prime does not even require KYC to enter, only to claim a prize. The catch is not cost, it is eligibility: Blueberry Funded and For Traders both restrict entry by country, so check the list before registering.

Can you win a free funded account in a prop firm competition?

Yes, at some firms. The5ers awards funded accounts directly to weekly winners. Goat Funded Trader awards Instant accounts to the top five and challenge accounts further down the ladder. FundedNext awards Stellar Instant accounts alongside cash. For Traders awards challenge accounts across its tournaments and prediction markets competition, which still require passing an evaluation afterwards.

Where can I find a prop firm competition running right now?

Goat Funded Trader is the only firm here that accepts entries into an active competition mid-month. Every other monthly competition, including FundedNext, Alpha Capital Group, and Blueberry Funded, requires registration before the month begins. For Traders runs 24-hour and 72-hour tournaments most weeks, so a new entry window opens within days.

Why do fewer prop firms run competitions than a few years ago?

MetaQuotes stopped selling MetaTrader white-label licences to prop firms from 2024, which removed the platform infrastructure many firms used to host free demo competitions. Platform vendors have since built replacements: cTrader launched free prop trial accounts specifically for competitions in October 2025, which lowers the cost of running one again.

What is the biggest prop firm competition prize pool?

FundedNext runs the largest recurring cash pool at over $8,000 a month, paid across 600 leaderboard positions, with $5,000 going to first place. Goat Funded Trader pays $3,000 to first place but spreads cash across the top 10 and accounts across the top 20. Prize pools change month to month.

Do prop firm competitions use demo accounts?

Yes. Every competition here runs on a simulated or demo account, typically $100,000 in virtual capital. Prop firm evaluation and funded accounts are also simulated environments at most CFD firms, so the competition account behaves much like the paid product.

Compare the firms behind the competitions

A free competition is worth entering. The account you win still has rules attached. Check drawdown type, payout cadence, and consistency rules before you commit to any firm.
