Axi Select Review 2026: The Free Prop Firm That Bans Scalping

Quick verdict: Axi Select is a capital allocation program backed by a 15-year-old global broker. No challenge fee, no demo account, real money from day one. You deposit $500, build an Edge Score above 50, and unlock up to $1 million in Axi-funded capital across six stages. The key facts most reviews get wrong: the max loss limit is 7% (not 10%), scalping is explicitly prohibited, and automated copy trading is banned. If your strategy involves short-duration trades, this program is not compatible.

What is Axi Select?

Axi Select is a capital allocation program run by AxiTrader LLC, the offshore entity of Axi, a global forex and CFD broker founded in 2007. It launched in autumn 2023 as an alternative to the standard challenge-fee prop firm model.

With a traditional prop firm like FTMO or FundedNext, you pay a non-refundable challenge fee (typically $100 to $600) to trade a demo account. Pass the evaluation and you get access to simulated funded capital. With Axi Select, there is no challenge fee and there is no demo account. You deposit a minimum of $500 into a live Axi trading account, trade that real money, and Axi evaluates your performance through a proprietary scoring system called the Edge Score. Hit a score of 50 or above and you unlock the Seed stage, which gives you access to up to $5,000 in Axi-funded capital.

The practical implication is that your deposited capital stays yours throughout. You can withdraw it at any time, though doing so mid-month forfeits that month’s allocation account profits. Axi earns from spreads and commissions on your live trading, not from failed challenge fees. That changes the incentive structure relative to most prop firms.

Geographic restriction: Axi Select is operated by AxiTrader LLC and is not available to residents of the United States, United Kingdom, European Union member states, or Australia. Those regions are served by Axi’s regulated entities, which operate under separate frameworks that do not include the Select program.

How to Join Axi Select

Joining is a three-step process with no upfront fee. Each step is a hard requirement. Skip any one and you are not eligible for the Seed stage.

Step 1: Open an Axi account Create an Axi Select account or convert an existing live Axi trading account. Account opening takes around 10 to 15 minutes. Full identity verification is required.
Step 2: Deposit $500 minimum Fund your account with at least $500 USD. This is your own capital and can be withdrawn at any time. Axi accepts bank transfers, credit/debit cards, and various e-wallets depending on your region.
Step 3: Complete 20 unique trades Place at least 20 unique closed trades. A unique trade is one symbol opened and closed with no other trades for that same symbol open at the same time. Multiple simultaneous trades on the same symbol count as one unique trade.
Step 4: Achieve Edge Score 50+ Once your Edge Score reaches 50, you automatically qualify for the Seed stage and receive up to $5,000 in Axi-funded capital in your Allocation Account. Existing Axi clients already meeting these criteria can enter immediately.
Standard trading fees apply throughout. The program has no entry fee, but you are trading live Axi accounts with real spreads and commissions from day one. These fees affect your Edge Score calculation as they impact your profitability metrics.

How deposits affect your allocation

Depositing additional funds during an active stage does not increase your Allocation Account mid-stage. For example, if you are at Acceleration with $2,000 in your account and a $50,000 allocation (x25 multiplier), depositing an extra $2,000 will not raise your allocation to $100,000. The allocation stays at $50,000 for that stage. The increased equity only applies when you begin the next stage.

What happens at the end of each month

At month-end, your Allocation Account is reset to its opening balance for that month. Profits generated on Axi’s capital are calculated and your share (at your current stage split) is transferred to your Axi account on the first day of the following month. If you have any open positions in the Allocation Account at month-end, no automatic payment is made. The account stays unchanged until it is flat. You can deliberately keep a position open to defer a payout to the following month.

The Edge Score Explained

The Edge Score is the single mechanism that determines whether you can enter the program, how you advance between stages, and how much capital you can access. You need 50 to enter Seed, 60 for Incubation, 70 for Acceleration, and 90 to reach Pro through Pro M.

The score is a weighted composite of three components multiplied by an Experience discount factor:

Skill Measures your ability to generate profits while keeping drawdowns in check. Consistent profitability with low drawdown pushes this up.
Risk Evaluates how well you manage risk. Position sizing, stop usage, and avoiding extreme exposure all factor in here.
Consistency Reflects how steady your gains are over time. Erratic trading (big win one week, flat or negative the next) drags this component down.
Experience Assesses whether your trade history is sufficient to be credible. Too few trades or too short a history discounts the overall score. More trading activity reduces this penalty.

Dashboard insights

The Edge Score dashboard shows your current score and breaks it down by component. It also provides three personalized trading insights in a “How to Improve My Edge Score” section, tailored to your individual trading patterns. What the dashboard does not show is the exact weighting formula for each component. This is the most consistent complaint from active Axi Select participants.

Resetting your Edge Score

You can reset your Edge Score once every 90 days from your initial account opening. Resetting wipes your current trading progress and closes your existing Axi Select account. You then need to place 20 unique trades in the new account and maintain $500 USD in equity to re-qualify for Seed. This is a last resort for traders whose scores have been severely damaged by a poor run and who want to start fresh.

Edge Score is built on your personal account. You are building your score with your own real money at risk. This is intentional. Axi wants to evaluate performance under conditions where losses have real financial consequences, not in a demo environment.

Trading Rules and Restrictions

Axi Select has fewer restrictions than most challenge-based prop firms, but it has two hard prohibitions that rule out specific trading styles entirely.

Rule Detail
Maximum loss (Seed to Pro 500) 7% of allocation account balance at start of stage. Static, does not trail. Breach consequences vary by stage (see Quarantine section).
Maximum loss (Pro M) 10% of allocation account balance. Pro M is the only stage with a 10% limit.
Daily loss limit None. Only the stage-level maximum loss applies.
Scalping PROHIBITED. Opening and closing trades within very short timeframes to exploit minimal price movements or inflate trade counts is explicitly banned. Traders who engage in scalping risk disqualification and permanent removal from the program.
Automated copy trading PROHIBITED. Automated copy trading directly contradicts the program’s purpose, per official rules. Own EAs are allowed.
Expert Advisors (own) Allowed. You can use your own EAs. Using a third party’s EA, or supplying an EA to others, is only permitted for signal generation — all trades must still be placed manually.
Overnight holding Allowed. Positions can be held through the night.
Weekend holding Allowed. No forced Friday-close requirement.
News trading Not explicitly restricted. No news event restrictions found in program rules.
Profit target 7% on the Allocation Account to progress to the next stage. No profit target at Pro M.
Minimum stage duration Seed: 30 days. All other stages: 60 days. No maximum time limit at any stage.
Leverage Up to 1000:1 at Seed. Fixed at 100:1 for all stages from Incubation through Pro M.
Mid-month withdrawal Allowed, but triggers forfeiture of all allocation account profits earned so far that month and resets the allocation account multiplier.
Scalping ban means short-duration strategies are out. The program rules define scalping as trades opened and closed within very short timeframes with the primary intent to exploit minimal price movements or to artificially meet trade count requirements. If your strategy relies on trades held for seconds to a few minutes, Axi Select is not the right program.

Instruments, Platform, and Dashboard

Tradable instruments and copy eligibility

Axi Select supports a broad range of CFDs across forex, indices, commodities, metals, equities, and crypto. However, not all instruments traded on your personal Axi account are eligible to be copied to the Allocation Account. The table below shows what is and is not eligible.

Category Eligible for Allocation Account Not Eligible
Forex All forex pairs None
Indices All indices None
Metals Gold (XAUUSD), Silver (XAGUSD) All other metals
Commodities Brent, WTI, Cocoa, Coffee, Copper, Nat Gas, Soybean All other commodities
Equities (Shares) Meta, Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Tesla, Netflix, Apple All other equities
Crypto Bitcoin (BTCUSD) All other cryptocurrencies

Trades placed on ineligible instruments are still executed on your personal account — they just are not mirrored in the Allocation Account and therefore do not count toward your stage performance metrics.

Platform: MetaTrader 4 only

Axi Select runs exclusively on MetaTrader 4. There is no MT5, no cTrader, no TradeLocker, and no proprietary Axi platform option within the program. MT4 is available as a desktop download, web trader, and mobile app. Axi enhances the base MT4 installation with MT4 NexGen (enhanced order management) and Autochartist integration (market scanning and opportunity alerts), both at no additional cost.

MT4 only. Plan accordingly. If your strategy uses MT5 features (depth of market, the hedging/netting mode toggle, additional order types) or requires a platform other than MT4, Axi Select is incompatible with your setup.

Axi Select dashboard

Axi Select provides a web-based dashboard separate from MT4 where you can track your Edge Score in real time, view performance analytics by component, monitor stage progression, and access the Axi Select Trading Room. The Trading Room is available from the Seed stage onward and provides live educational content and market analysis from Axi’s trading team.

Payout and Profit Split Structure

Axi Select has two separate profit streams. The first is profit from your own live Axi trading account — entirely yours, withdrawable at any time through standard Axi channels. The second is the performance fee from your Allocation Account, which is the portion of Axi-funded capital gains paid to you at your current stage’s split percentage.

When performance fees are paid

Performance fees are automatically credited to your Axi Select account on the first day of the calendar month, provided two conditions are met: the Allocation Account balance is higher than the original Axi funding amount at month-end, and there are no open positions in the Allocation Account at month-end. If you have any open positions when the month closes, no payment is made and the account remains unchanged. Only when the account is flat does the transfer happen.

Stage Max Axi Allocation Your Split Monthly Example
Seed Up to $5,000 0% No payout at Seed
Incubation Up to $20,000 40% $10K allocation +7% = $700 gain: you receive $280
Acceleration Up to $100,000 50% $50K allocation +7% = $3,500 gain: you receive $1,750
Pro Up to $200,000 60% $200K allocation +7% = $14,000 gain: you receive $8,400
Pro 500 Up to $500,000 70% $500K allocation +7% = $35,000 gain: you receive $24,500
Pro M Up to $1,000,000 80% $1M allocation, no profit target — performance fee on whatever you generate

Withdrawal rules and risks

Withdrawing mid-month forfeits all allocation account profits earned during that period and resets the multiplier based on your new, lower equity balance. If you withdraw while the Allocation Account has a negative PnL, the account is reduced immediately by the withdrawal amount times the multiplier. This can push you into quarantine if the resulting balance breaches the maximum loss limit.

To avoid penalties, Axi recommends withdrawing after performance fees have been paid (on the 1st of the month) and before placing any new trade for the new month. Once a trade is placed, the month’s multiplier is locked in and any withdrawal is treated as mid-month.

Your own deposit

Your personal deposited capital sits in your regular Axi account and can be withdrawn at any time via standard Axi methods: credit/debit card, bank wire, or e-wallet depending on your country. Axi does not charge withdrawal fees, though third-party processor fees may apply. Withdrawing below the minimum equity for your stage removes you from that stage and drops you back to Seed.

Quarantine System Explained

Quarantine is the consequence of breaching the maximum loss limit on your Allocation Account. Its behavior differs significantly depending on which stage you are in. Most reviews get this wrong — here is exactly how it works per the official program rules.

Stage What Happens if You Breach Max Loss
Seed No quarantine. You can restart the Seed stage at any time without penalty, provided you still meet the entry criteria (Edge Score 50+, $500 equity). Select “Reset Stage” in the dashboard to wipe stats and restart.
Incubation, Acceleration Quarantine: all open Allocation Account positions are closed. No new funding allocations are made. Trading on the Allocation Account is paused for one week, then you return to the current stage (1st and 2nd quarantine). A 3rd quarantine within the same stage drops you back to Seed.
Pro, Pro 500, Pro M No quarantine period. Breaching the max loss limit immediately drops you back to Seed stage. You must restart the entire progression from Seed.

During any quarantine, you can still trade your personal Axi Select Trading Account as normal. Only the Allocation Account is restricted. Your own deposited funds are not locked.

Pro stage breach = back to Seed. This is the harshest risk in the program. A trader who reaches the Pro stage ($200,000 allocation) and hits the 7% max loss drops all the way back to Seed, losing months of progression. Plan position sizing accordingly.

Is Axi Select Legit?

Axi Select is operated by AxiTrader LLC, registered in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. This is the international entity of Axi, separate from the Australian, UK, and EU regulated arms. The Select program is not offered through any of Axi’s regulated entities and is therefore outside the protection of ASIC, FCA, or CySEC frameworks.

That said, the parent group — AxiCorp Financial Services Pty Ltd (ACN 127 606 348, Australia) — has a 15-year operating history, holds ASIC authorization (AFSL 318232), FCA authorization (FRN 466201), and CySEC authorization (licence 433/23). Axi processes approximately $5 trillion USD in annual trading volume, serves traders in over 100 countries, and is the official trading partner of Manchester City FC.

Axi’s Trustpilot profile (reviewed under the combined Axi brand) holds a rating of 4.1 out of 5 based on over 7,000 reviews as of July 2026. Positive reviews consistently cite fast withdrawals, reliable execution, and responsive support. A minority mention verification delays and mobile app glitches after updates.

Known enforcement case

One ForexPeaceArmy user documented their Pro-stage account being reset to Seed for scalping, two days before a $7,000 monthly payout. Their average trade duration was 27 minutes with an 84-pip average win. After raising a dispute, Axi reviewed the account and reinstated the Pro stage within three weeks. This case confirms two things: the scalping ban is actively enforced, and Axi will review appeals. However, enforcement criteria are not publicly defined beyond “very short timeframes,” which creates ambiguity for traders who hold positions for 15 to 30 minutes.

Not a regulated financial product. Axi Select is a capital allocation program. Your deposited funds are held in your live Axi account. Performance fees from the Allocation Account are discretionary payments, not guaranteed investment returns. Prop programs carry risk of capital loss and stage regression and are not appropriate for all traders.

  • 0% profit split at Seed — no income until Incubation
  • 40% split at Incubation is low for real capital at risk

Axi Select vs Competitors

The free-to-join, live-account model puts Axi Select in a different category from most challenge-based firms. Here is how it compares on the points that matter most.

Feature Axi Select FTMO The5%ers (Hyper Growth)
Entry cost $0 (live $500 deposit) $155 to $1,080 challenge fee $95 to $4,000
Account type Live account from day one Demo challenge, simulated funded Live account
Max drawdown 7% (10% at Pro M) 10% max loss, 5% daily 4% to 6% trailing
Max profit split 80% 90% 100%
Scalping Prohibited Allowed Allowed
Max funding $1,000,000 $400,000 $4,000,000 (aggregate)
Time limit None beyond minimums 30 days per phase None
Platform MT4 only MT4, MT5, cTrader, DXtrade MT4, MT5, cTrader

Axi Select works best for patient swing and position traders who use real money discipline and their own EAs, can absorb a 7% max loss without panic, and want to avoid challenge fees. FTMO is a better fit for traders who scalp, need MT5, or want faster access to higher splits without building personal equity to $20,000. The5%ers Hyper Growth is the closest structural match to Axi Select in terms of live-account funding, but with tighter trailing drawdowns and faster scale-up potential at lower personal equity requirements.

Axi Select FAQ

Is Axi Select legit?

Yes. Axi Select is operated by AxiTrader LLC, part of the Axi group, a broker founded in 2007. Parent entity AxiCorp Financial Services Pty Ltd holds ASIC, FCA, and CySEC licenses, giving the group a 15-year regulated operating history. The Select program runs under the St. Vincent and the Grenadines entity, outside those frameworks, but the parent group’s track record and 7,000+ Trustpilot reviews at 4.1 out of 5 provide meaningful credibility compared to most standalone prop startups.

What is the Axi Select Edge Score?

The Edge Score is a composite performance metric built from three components — Skill (profitability relative to drawdown), Risk (risk management quality), and Consistency (steadiness of gains) — multiplied by an Experience discount factor based on your trade count and history. You need a score of 50 to enter Seed, 60 for Incubation, 70 for Acceleration, and 90 for Pro through Pro M. The exact weighting formula is not publicly disclosed.

What is the maximum loss allowed in Axi Select?

The maximum loss limit is 7% of your Allocation Account balance at the start of the stage, for all stages from Seed through Pro 500. At Pro M only, the limit is 10%. Breaching the 7% at Incubation or Acceleration triggers a one-week quarantine on the Allocation Account. Breaching it at Pro, Pro 500, or Pro M drops you back to Seed immediately. At Seed, there is no quarantine — you can restart freely.

Is scalping allowed in Axi Select?

No. Scalping is explicitly prohibited. The program rules define it as opening and closing trades within very short timeframes to exploit minimal price movements or artificially inflate trade counts. Traders who scalp face disqualification and permanent removal from the program. The scalping ban is actively enforced — Axi’s monitoring system flags short-duration trading patterns for review.

Does Axi Select allow Expert Advisors and automated trading?

Own EAs are permitted. Using someone else’s EA, or supplying one to other traders, is only allowed for generating signals — all trades must then be placed manually. Automated copy trading is explicitly prohibited. It directly contradicts the intended use of an Axi Select account, per the official program rules.

Can I withdraw my deposit from Axi Select?

Yes. Your deposited capital is your own money in your live Axi account and can be withdrawn at any time. The critical warning: withdrawing mid-month forfeits all allocation account profits generated so far that month and resets the allocation multiplier. To withdraw cleanly, do it after performance fees have been credited on the 1st of the month and before placing any new trade. Withdrawing below your stage’s minimum equity removes you from the stage and drops you to Seed.

How long does it take to progress through Axi Select stages?

The Seed stage has a 30-day minimum. Incubation, Acceleration, Pro, and Pro 500 each require a minimum of 60 days. Pro M has no minimum. To complete all five preceding stages at minimum duration, that is 30 + 60 + 60 + 60 + 60 = 270 days of minimum time — and that is before accounting for the time needed to build your Edge Score and hit the 7% profit target at each stage.

Is Axi Select available in my country?

Axi Select is operated by AxiTrader LLC and is not available to residents of the United States, United Kingdom, European Union member states, or Australia. Axi’s regulated entities in those regions do not include the Select program. Check the official Axi Select page to confirm availability in your specific country before signing up.

What is the minimum deposit for Axi Select?

The minimum deposit to qualify for the Seed stage is $500 USD. To reach Pro M (the $1 million allocation), you need a minimum of $20,000 USD in personal equity in your Axi account. Intermediate minimums are: $1,000 for Incubation, $2,000 for Acceleration, $5,000 for Pro, and $10,000 for Pro 500. These are the equity thresholds required to stay in each stage, not additional fees.

Final Verdict

Axi Select is structurally different from the prop firm mainstream. No challenge fee, no demo account, no 30-day countdown clock. You trade real money from day one and build a verifiable performance record on a platform backed by a 15-year-old broker. The incentive alignment is genuine — Axi earns from your spreads, so a profitable trader who stays long-term is worth more than a failed challenge fee.

The weaknesses are real and some of them are deal-breakers depending on your strategy. The scalping ban is absolute. If you trade short-duration strategies, this program will disqualify you. The 7% maximum loss limit is tighter than most challenge-based alternatives. Reaching the Pro M stage requires building $20,000 in personal equity, which is a meaningful capital commitment. And losing a Pro-stage account drops you all the way back to Seed, months of progression wiped out by a single bad run.

For traders with a swing or position trading approach, their own tested EA, and the patience to progress over 9 to 12 months of minimum stage durations, Axi Select is one of the more credible free-access programs in the market. The backing matters. Most prop firms do not have it.
