Plutus Trade Base Review 2026: Is PTB Legit? Rules & Fees

Quick verdict: Plutus Trade Base (PTB) is a real, actively paying evaluation firm with five plan types running from $5,000 entry-level accounts to a flat-fee $500,000 Adventure account, up to a 95% profit split, and same-day auto-approved payouts on Freedom. It carries a 4.5 out of 5 Trustpilot score from 1,077 reviews. As of August 2026, PTB's own pricing and rules pages disagree with each other on several core numbers, and its Terms allow PTB to shrink or decline a payout it flags as high-risk or gambling-style trading. Read the full rules before you pay, not just the plan page.

What Is Plutus Trade Base?

Plutus Trade Base (PTB) is a proprietary trading firm based in Limassol, Cyprus, that funds traders through simulated evaluation challenges. You pay a one-time fee, pass a profit target without breaching a drawdown rule, then trade a simulated funded account and keep up to 95% of the profit as a performance reward. PTB says it has been running since 2024 and states on its own site that it has funded more than 50,000 traders and paid out over $5 million so far this year.

PTB is operated by two separate registered companies. Triple Edge Group LTD (Cyprus, Company No. HE465348) runs the educational and evaluation side of the business and operates TradeLocker, cTrader, Match Trader, DXtrade, and TradingView. PTB Plutus TradeBase LTD (Saint Lucia, Reg. No. 2025-00638) operates only the MetaTrader 5 platform inside the PTB ecosystem. Both entities and their registration numbers are published on PTB's own legal disclaimer.

PTB's own FAQ describes the service plainly as a "simulated proprietary-trading evaluation (educational)" product. No live capital changes hands. You never deposit trading funds, and PTB never places a real-market trade on your behalf. Payouts are performance-based cash rewards funded by PTB itself, calculated from how your simulated account performs. This is the standard model across the challenge-based prop firm industry, PTB is simply more explicit than most firms about the legal framing.

Challenge Types and Account Sizes

PTB runs five plans side by side. Lightning and Freedom are one-step challenges aimed at different priorities (lowest upfront cost against simplest rulebook). Adventure is a single $500,000 one-step account for experienced traders. 2 Step Challenge is the classic two-phase format most traders already know from other firms. Instant skips the evaluation entirely and puts you on a funded account immediately.

Figures above come from PTB's FAQ, dated June 2026 by PTB itself, and are the most internally structured pricing PTB publishes. As explained in the accuracy section below, several of these numbers do not match what appears on PTB's own homepage and individual plan pages. Treat the checkout screen as the final word on price.

Drawdown and Risk Rules, Plan by Plan

Every PTB plan uses either a static or a trailing drawdown. Static is measured from your fixed starting balance and never moves. Trailing follows your account's highest point and rises as your balance grows, so a strong winning streak raises the floor you have to stay above rather than giving you more room underneath it.

Lightning

Challenge3% target, 6% static drawdown, no minimum trading days, no time limit, leverage up to 100x.
Funded4% static drawdown, 2% daily loss limit, 40% Best Day rule at payout, 7 profitable days before first payout.

The 2% maximum risk per trade rule is the one worth reading twice. Risking more than 2% of the funded balance on a single trade is a soft breach the first time, a warning that leaves the account open, and a hard breach the second time, which ends the account outright. One oversized position on a volatile print can close a Lightning funded account that never came close to touching the 4% drawdown. Lightning's profit split starts at 70% by default (PTB's FAQ states this figure twice, though two other FAQ answers on the same page, its plan-comparison summary and its own glossary entry, put the default at 80%, an inconsistency we could not resolve from PTB's own pages). Either way, the advertised "up to 95%" only applies once you buy the separate Profit-Split add-on. Budget for that add-on if the split is the reason you are choosing Lightning.

Freedom

Challenge5% target, 5% static max loss, no daily loss limit, no time limit, profit must land across at least 7 separate trading days.
FundedNo profit target, 4% trailing drawdown, 3% buffer, up to 95% split, payouts auto-approved daily in under 24 hours.

Freedom's headline is genuinely its rules, not its marketing. No daily loss limit on either stage is unusual among prop firms and is the plan's real selling point. The buffer works like this: on a $20,000 account you need $600 of profit (3%) before anything above that line becomes withdrawable. Below the buffer, the profit exists on paper but nothing is cashable yet.

The mechanic that most reviews of PTB skip is the Skill Score. It is recalculated on every trade and resets after each payout, and it sets the maximum amount you can withdraw in a single payout based on how evenly your profit is spread across trades. PTB's own FAQ is careful to say it does not block approval, only the amount. In practice that means a payout can auto-approve, exactly as advertised, for a fraction of the balance sitting in the account, if most of the profit came from one or two outsized trades rather than a spread of smaller ones.

Adventure

ChallengeMinimum 30 trading days, profit target and drawdown figures conflict across PTB's own pages (see the accuracy note below).
FundedNo daily loss limit, withdraw anytime, up to 95% split, news and HFT still banned, DCA allowed.

PTB's own FAQ is explicit that "no daily loss limit" on Adventure does not mean the account is unrestricted. The drawdown rule and the trading restrictions (no news trading, no high-frequency trading, no copy trading) still apply once funded, and a breach still ends the account the same way it would on any other plan.

2 Step Challenge

The classic two-phase format: 8% Phase 1, 6% Phase 2, both with a 4-day minimum trading days requirement. Drawdown tightens as the account gets bigger, which is the opposite of what many traders expect. The $5,000 to $50,000 accounts get a 7% daily and 12% total trailing drawdown. The $100,000 account drops to 5% daily and 10% total. The $200,000 account drops again to 4% daily and 8% total. Once funded, the daily loss limit is 5%, scaling is available, and withdrawals run every 14 days by default.

Instant

No evaluation phase. You are funded from the moment you pay. The trade-off for skipping the screening is the widest drawdown on the list, a 10% trailing drawdown, plus the tightest trading rules PTB offers: no news trading, no EAs or bots, no high-frequency trading, and no holding positions over the weekend. Leverage caps at 50x, half of what Lightning and Freedom allow. The first payout request opens after 7 trading days and is processed on demand within 24 to 48 hours.

Stabilisation period, every plan: Two or more funded-account breaches trigger a 60-day window where withdrawals are capped at $3,000, regardless of the account's actual balance. It limits withdrawal size only, not your ability to keep trading, and it applies across all five plans per PTB's Terms.

Where PTB's Own Numbers Disagree

PTB's marketing leans hard on the line "the whole rulebook is here, if it's not on this page, it doesn't exist." Checking that claim against PTB's own pages is where this review found the most notable, verifiable issue with the firm. Several core numbers do not match between PTB's homepage, its individual plan pages, and its own FAQ, all published by PTB itself and all still live as of August 2026.

FigureWhat one PTB page saysWhat another PTB page says
Adventure profit target8% (homepage hero, Adventure page hero and body copy)4% (Adventure page stat block, and the FAQ twice)
Adventure drawdown5% trailing (FAQ, homepage)$10,000 static (FAQ, same page, different answer)
Adventure stable daily average5% (homepage)0.2% (dedicated Adventure page)
Adventure profit splitUp to 95% (stat blocks, funded rules)Up to 90% (Adventure page hero line)
Lightning profit split70% by default (FAQ, stated twice)80% by default (FAQ, two other answers, same page)
Lightning funded payout targetNone (homepage funded card)7% (FAQ)
2 Step Challenge funded payout targetNone (homepage funded card)7% (dedicated 2 Step page)
Freedom fee, $20K account€59 (homepage and the Freedom plan page itself, same checkout link)€169 (FAQ pricing table)
Instant account sizes offered$5K – $200K (homepage checkout buttons)$5K – $50K only (FAQ, "What account sizes are available")

None of these differences are hidden behind a login. They sit on public pages we checked directly during this review, several of them contradicting each other within the same page. That does not mean PTB is not paying traders, its Trustpilot record and payout ticker suggest it is. It does mean the "no fine print, no surprises" framing does not hold up against PTB's own published material, and the number you see on a plan page or the homepage is not guaranteed to be the number you get at checkout.

Platforms and Instruments

PTB supports six platforms: TradeLocker, cTrader, Match Trader, DXtrade, and TradingView, all operated by Triple Edge Group LTD, plus MetaTrader 5, operated separately by PTB Plutus TradeBase LTD in Saint Lucia. You choose your platform at checkout, and platform choice does not change the rules of the plan itself.

MT5 is not available to traders in the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, Belgium, Brazil, Japan, Israel, or Spain. Traders in those countries use TradeLocker instead, which also supports stock CFDs if that matters to your strategy. Tradable instruments across plans include forex majors and minors, indices (NAS100, SPX500, GER40, US30, UK100, JP225), commodities (gold, silver, US and UK oil), major crypto CFDs, and stocks on TradeLocker.

Hedging (holding a long and a short position on the same instrument at once) is banned on every plan. Automated high-frequency trading through an EA or bot is banned on every plan too, though normal manual trading at a higher frequency is allowed. EAs for ordinary, non-HFT strategies are allowed on Lightning, Freedom, and Adventure, but not on Instant.

Payouts and Profit Split

Payouts go out through Rise, a bank transfer in local currency covering 140+ countries with a provider fee of up to 2.75%, or USDT on the TRC-20 network, arriving in minutes with lower fees. The minimum withdrawal on every plan is $100. Identity verification (KYC) has to be completed once, before your first payout, not on every withdrawal.

PTB refunds the fee you paid to unlock the funded account (the activation fee on Lightning, or the one-time fee on Freedom, Adventure, and Instant) after your third payout. That is one rebate per account, and it is a genuinely trader-friendly term that not every firm on this list offers.

Payouts are not guaranteed, even inside the rules. PTB's own FAQ states it may decline or reduce a payout tied to high-risk or gambling-style trading, such as all-in or heavily over-leveraged positions, separate from any drawdown or daily loss breach. This is not a hypothetical clause. Trustpilot reviews on PTB's own listing describe payouts reduced or rejected under this clause, including one case built entirely on an internally calculated risk score after a profitable stretch, and a separate case where the trader disputes ever exceeding the plan's stated 2% per-trade risk limit. Read this clause in the Terms before you assume that clearing every published rule guarantees the payout you expect.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Five plan types cover most trading styles, from a $19-range low-cost entry to a $500,000 account for €59
  • Freedom has no daily loss limit on either stage and pays out daily, auto-approved in under 24 hours
  • Fee rebate after the third payout on Lightning, Freedom, Adventure, and Instant, one per account
  • 4.5 out of 5 Trustpilot score from 1,077 reviews, and an active public payout log on PTB's own site
  • Six trading platforms to choose from, with clear country-by-country MT5 restrictions stated upfront

Cons

  • Core numbers (Adventure's target and drawdown, Lightning's split, several fee tables) conflict across PTB's own live pages
  • The advertised "up to 95%" split is not what Lightning actually pays by default, that needs a paid add-on
  • PTB can reduce or decline a payout it flags as high-risk or gambling-style trading, on top of the published drawdown rules
  • The Freedom Skill Score can shrink a withdrawal well below the account balance without blocking the payout, and it is easy to miss on the plan page
  • Two separate legal entities and jurisdictions (Cyprus and Saint Lucia) split responsibility depending on which platform you trade on

Best For and Avoid If

Best for

Traders who want a no-daily-loss-limit plan with fast, auto-approved payouts (Freedom), traders who want the biggest possible account for the smallest possible fee and can handle the challenge's own contradictions on paper (Adventure), and traders who want to skip the evaluation entirely and are comfortable with a wider 10% drawdown in exchange (Instant).

Avoid if

You need every rule to match exactly what you read on the plan page before you buy, since several of PTB's own plan pages currently do not agree with its FAQ or its homepage. Also avoid Adventure specifically until PTB corrects its profit target and drawdown figures, since we could not confirm which number is current from PTB's own materials.

Is Plutus Trade Base Legit?

Yes, with caveats. PTB is operated by two registered companies whose names, registration numbers, and registered addresses are published on its own site. It publishes a full Terms and Conditions, runs KYC before payouts, uses established payment processors (Rise, USDT), and shows a running log of recent payouts and passed challenges on its homepage. It holds a 4.5 out of 5 Trustpilot score from 1,077 reviews as of August 2026, tagged "Excellent," plus a 4.9-star rating from 56 Feefo reviews shown on its own homepage.

The caveats are the ones detailed earlier in this review: PTB's own pages disagree with each other on several core numbers, and its Terms give PTB discretion to shrink or decline a payout over an internal risk assessment that sits outside the published drawdown and daily loss rules. Neither issue is evidence of a scam. Real traders are getting real payouts, and the Trustpilot record backs that up. But "legit" and "fully consistent about its own rules" are two different questions, and PTB currently scores better on the first than the second.

PTB does not provide services to residents of Cuba, Syria, Iran, Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, North Korea, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, or Myanmar. US traders are accepted on TradeLocker, TradingView, cTrader, Match Trader, and DXtrade, just not on MT5.

Alternatives to Plutus Trade Base

If PTB's rule inconsistencies give you pause, these are worth comparing before you commit. See our full prop firm comparison tool to build your own side-by-side.

FTMOThe default benchmark for a classic 2-step challenge, with a longer public track record than PTB and a well-documented scaling plan. No same-day payout option, unlike PTB's Freedom plan.
Sure Leverage FundingAnother low-cost 1-step option with no consistency rule, a comparable pitch to PTB's Freedom plan without PTB's Skill Score mechanic.

Both of these have a published no-time-limit challenge option, the same no-deadline pressure relief that makes PTB's Freedom and Lightning plans appealing.

Final Verdict

Plutus Trade Base is a genuine, operating prop firm with a wide plan lineup, a strong public Trustpilot record, and one real standout feature in Freedom's no-daily-loss-limit, same-day payout structure. It loses points for a documented pattern of self-contradicting numbers across its own pricing and rules pages, and for a discretionary payout-reduction clause that goes beyond the drawdown rules most traders will actually read before buying. Treat every number on a PTB plan page as provisional until you see it confirmed on the checkout screen, and read the full Terms, not just the marketing page, before you buy.

FAQs

Is Plutus Trade Base legit?

Yes. PTB is run by two registered companies (Triple Edge Group LTD in Cyprus and PTB Plutus TradeBase LTD in Saint Lucia), publishes its Terms, runs KYC before payouts, and holds a 4.5 out of 5 Trustpilot score from 1,077 reviews. Its rules pages currently contain several unresolved internal contradictions, which is a real accuracy concern separate from the question of legitimacy.

How much does Plutus Trade Base cost?

Per PTB's own FAQ, Lightning starts at €39 plus a €109 activation fee due only after you pass ($20,000 account). Freedom starts at €99 one-time ($10,000). Adventure is a flat €59 for the single $500,000 account. The 2 Step Challenge starts at €29 ($5,000). Instant starts at €87 ($5,000). PTB's homepage lists different figures for several of these plans, so confirm the price at checkout.

What is the Skill Score on PTB's Freedom plan?

The Skill Score is a Freedom-only measure, recalculated per trade and reset after each payout, that reflects how evenly your profit is spread across trades. It sets the maximum amount you can withdraw in a single payout. It does not block a payout from being approved, only how much of it you actually receive.

Can US traders use Plutus Trade Base?

Yes. US traders are supported on TradeLocker, TradingView, cTrader, Match Trader, and DXtrade. MetaTrader 5 is not available to US persons, along with several other countries, due to jurisdictional restrictions on the entity that operates it.

How do withdrawals work at Plutus Trade Base?

Payouts go through Rise (bank transfer, 140+ countries, fee up to 2.75%) or USDT on TRC-20 (crypto wallet, arrives in minutes). The minimum withdrawal is $100 on every plan. KYC has to be completed once before your first payout. Freedom pays out daily with automatic approval, other plans follow a 14-day cycle by default unless you add the Withdraw-Anytime add-on.

What happens if I fail a PTB challenge?

The fee is non-refundable once the account has been used, but you can buy another challenge at any time. On Lightning specifically, the activation fee is only charged after you pass, so failing means you only ever paid the smaller upfront fee.

Does PTB ever decline a payout even if I followed the rules?

It can. PTB's Terms allow it to decline or reduce a payout tied to high-risk or gambling-style trading, such as all-in or heavily over-leveraged positions, separately from any drawdown or daily loss breach. Real Trustpilot reviews describe payouts reduced under this clause, so it is worth reading in full before you trade a funded account aggressively.
