Editorial Policy & Review Methodology (2025)

Last Updated: December 1, 2025 Fact Checked by: Alex Firdaus, Head of Media

At FundedTrading.com, we don’t just rewrite marketing brochures. We help traders find the best prop firms by combining live account testing with deep community sentiment analysis.

Our rankings are not based on who pays the most; they are based on data, payout reliability, and the raw feedback of the trading community. Here is exactly how we calculate the 0-10 Score you see on our reviews.

1. Our 3-Step Data Collection Process

We believe that a single source of data is never enough. To ensure our reviews are accurate, we use a “Triangulated” approach:

A. Direct Live Testing (“The Secret Shopper”)
Our team frequently purchases challenges anonymously to experience the platform exactly as you do. We test dashboard lag, execution speed (slippage), and spreads during high-impact news.

B. Community Sentiment Analysis
We don’t just rely on Trustpilot (which can be botted). We scour the “uncensored” corners of the internet, including Reddit (r/Forex, r/PropFirm) and Discord support channels, to find patterns of denied payouts or hidden rule changes.

C. Live Tracking (Coming Soon)
We are building proprietary tools to track live payout proofs and web traffic data, ensuring our scores reflect the current health of a firm, not just its history.

2. The Ranking Breakdown: How We Calculate the Score

We rate every prop firm on a 10-point scale across five specific categories. These five scores are averaged to produce the Overall Firm Score (e.g., 8.6).

🔹 1. Pricing (Cost & Value)
We calculate the “True Cost” of funding.
Low Score (0-5): High fees per $10k funding, non-refundable fees, or expensive monthly subscriptions.
High Score (9-10): Industry-leading prices, frequent discount codes, and 100%+ refund policies upon funding.

🔹 2. Trading Rules
We penalize firms that try to “trick” traders into failing.
What hurts the score: Hidden “Consistency Rules” (e.g., lot size limits), 30-day time limits, or news trading restrictions.
What boosts the score: Unlimited time, balance-based drawdown, and “raw” trading conditions with no restrictions.

🔹 3. Platform & Tech
A freezing chart can cause you to fail a challenge.
We test: Stability, execution speed, and mobile compatibility.
Platforms: Firms offering industry standards like MetaTrader (MT4/5), cTrader, or Match-Trader score higher than those with buggy, proprietary web-traders.

🔹 4. Deposit & Withdrawal
Getting funded is useless if you can’t get paid.
Speed: Payouts processed in <24 hours receive top marks.
Methods: We look for diverse options (Crypto, Rise, Bank Transfer, Deel).
Reliability: Any firm with verified reports of “denied payouts” without cause receives a massive penalty here.

🔹 5. Features
This covers the “extras” that make a firm stand out.
Scaling Plan: Is there a clear path to $1M+ funding?
Dashboard: Can you track your equity and drawdown in real-time?
Bonuses: 15% profit share from the challenge phase, bi-weekly payouts, or instant funding options.

What it means

The "Gold Standard." Verified payouts <24 hours, raw spreads, no hidden rules, and glowing community feedback.

A solid choice. Reliable payouts but might have slightly higher fees or one restrictive rule.

Good for beginners, but there are better options. Usually higher spreads or slower support.

Proceed with caution. We found reports of slippage or confusing rules.

Do not trade. We have confirmed reports of rug-pulls, denied payouts without cause, or insolvency.

4. Affiliate Disclosure & Independence

FundedTrading.com is part of the FinMediaGroup network. To keep this website free for reliable data, we operate as a commercial business.

Affiliate Links: When you click a link to a prop firm on our site, we may receive a commission.
Sponsored Rankings: Some lists may include sponsored placements. However, these are clearly labeled.
Editorial Integrity: We do not sell Scores. A prop firm cannot pay us to change a “6.0” Trading Rules score into a “9.0”. If a partner firm stops paying traders, we will blacklist them immediately, regardless of our contract.
